The Bachelorette: Week 4 +Memes

I had two posts I wanted to finish for this week and like, you know, wrap up June in an efficient way. Nope. I'll be that blogger who is writing about June at some point in August. (Maybe.)

So instead of giving you any kind of real content or update, I'll share nothingness. The Bachelorette, memes, and a blurb about pronouns at the end.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend! We will be knocking a hole in a (hopefully not load-bearing) wall and trying to move in the rest of our furniture :)

(Also, happy anniversary to my parents! hopefully they open that card I sent them two months ago, so as not to forget sending them an anniversary card)

This episode was boring. Also, I don't even LIKE Thomas but I'm on the #justiceforThomas train.

I thought Katie was really mean to him. Literally, what did he do? I really don't mind Katie at all, but felt like she was looking for her gif-able/meme-able moment with the Thomas send-off.

The Blake thing makes a lot of sense now. As soon as he said they had been talking over DMs, it all clicked. They were friends who were like pre-dating, and he liked her. She liked him. It wasn't so much that he wanted to be on the show but he reached out to Tayshia because he wanted a chance with Katie on the show. I have no strong feelings for Blake or against Blake, but I think his reasons seem valid.

Speaking of memes....

Ohemgee. This exactly. Having dogs is a good excuse. Having a child is a better one.

Raise your hand if you've slept on an airport floor.  ^ ^ Twice.

You can see that Pinterest must be feeling my mood, because I've been super anxious this week. However, they don't know me as well as they think because this prompt popped up when I logged in yesterday:

Uh huh.
Well, Pinterest, what are my options?

Another weekend recap + The Bachelorette

Blogger wasn't working yesterday in the morning so I'm behind. I can't even remember what day it is, which is unfortunate for a Tuesday, right? I am also seriously considering a switch to WordPress so if you have tips, let me know!

This weekend, I spent all of Saturday deep-cleaning. Actually, Saturday morning. I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

I wanted to do a good pre-Christmas clean, so it'll be nice to have clean carpets and furniture.

Wells amused himself with Blippi and kinetic sand and trucks and tractors. Scott was out hunting. I will not show you the pictures of the dead geese, but just know that I took 5 or 6 pictures of the two Wells-sized geese that Scott brought home.

Sunday morning, I went to the store early with a toddler. It's nice to get him out of the house, so if I'm only making one stop and it can involve a shopping cart, I usually take him along. Places I don't take him include: post offices, libraries, liquor stores, takeout order pickups, or anything where he cannot readily be restrained because my hands are full.

I'm really not quite sure where the rest of the weekend went? I did manage to finish two books. What happens when you're always reading 3-4 books at once is that you finish them all at the same time and it makes you feel productive.

I really liked the beginning a lot. The first 1/3 was fantastic and then, though the story was good, Backman's writing really started to lose steam for me. I hate his style of writing with constant pausing. He does this toward the ends of his books and it's why I never enjoy the whole reading experience.

This book was a little woo-woo and many are concerned (on Goodreads) that it was written by a man. Well, my only thought there would be that men can be OBGYNs too, so...
However, he was all into functional medicine (and he works for GOOP, gag) and offered a lot of tips on diet, exercise, supplements, etc.
He also offered up the word self-love up at least 156 times which, also, gag. In my opinion, the basics of taking care of yourself don't equal self-love.
BUT the idea behind it is valuable; that there is this balance that you don't always know how to fix and that you can't figure out after you have a baby. I'm on board for that. I don't necessarily care how the non-Western world responds to postnatal treatment, but I think the first half of this book is worth a read if you are expecting a baby or if you have had a baby in the last few years.
It's not gospel, but it's worth consideration.

Other than that...

I wanted to update you on my work bag situation:

I got this laptop bag back in October and then declared it to be not perfect but then I started carrying a newer, lighter computer around and that made all the difference. It fits so well! So I've been using it for weeks and weeks now and it's great. I still wish it were twice the size, so I could fit books, water bottles, and whatnot too. But someone asked me about it yesterday and said they liked it so I thought I'd update you and say it's worth a buy if you're in need of a laptop tote.

However...
I grabbed this backpack from Target over the weekend (online) and its purpose will be two-fold: I need a larger backpack/purse for next week AND it might make for the perfect size work bag after that. Definitely an impulse buy but I love this brand, I love this style and, to me, it's worth the $30. I wasn't even looking but I saw another person with it and I just loved the way it looked out in the wild.

Tayshia's dresses were not on point this past week. I could not understand the brown thing, and that white monstrosity? No.

I didn't like last week's episode all that much but the short version is that I'm still all in on Zac, I feel bad for Ben but I don't like Ben, and I could not care less about this week's Men Tell All. Like, whyyyy? Why do they still do that nonsense? I guess there's a Monday episode that will lead us into hometowns next week ("hometowns" lol) and then the MTA on Tuesday.

I will say that I think Tayshia has had an amazing crop of guys. I like them so much more than I liked any other groups in recent years. And, while most commentators I follow seem to have really strong Bennett opinions, I don't? I don't get the love and I don't get the hate? He's just...there?

An old-fashioned weekend recap + The Bachelorette

A dog being disciplined in the distance (Scout. Scout was being disciplined.)

A child refused his nap yesterday (Wells. Wells refused his nap.) so we were able to go for an afternoon walk.

I tried a bubble foam recipe yesterday and he was not into it. Until I gave him a bowl of water to use to wash off his hands.

We got this plastic plate at Target and also stopped at Panda Express for takeout because we're super high-brow like that. In the time it took me to change clothes when we got home, Scott had fed Wells, without washing the plate or washing Wells' hands.
Gotta get that immune system up and running for winter, I suppose.

Waiting to get tires replaced at Big O Tires
(maybe that's why he didn't nap? Jk. I don't *think* he drank any)

We are SUPER into kinetic sand these days and, if you want to feel anxiety kick into high gear, let your toddler stuff sand into these little plastic lightbulbs and then try to remove it with a toothpick. This took me like 20 minutes. But I was invested at that point.

And, happy to report that, I got my weighted blanket on Friday night in the mail.

I chose this brand because I really wanted one immediately and could not stomach the idea of spending close to $300. You win some, you lose some, I guess.

But, on Saturday, Scott told me to go to the grocery store during Wells' nap and I said "no, I'll just take him with me later". Scott was confused. I told him I was going to take a nap with my blanket while Wells napped in his crib.
Literally, that was my plan for Saturday.
And it was absolutely lovely.

But, before I fell asleep, I watched most of The Bachelorette....

Thoughts on Tayshia?

Guys, I really like Zac.

It may be because he's a bit older but there's something about him. Probably because he has that story of experience. I haven't felt this invested in awhile. This is because I also really like Tayshia. I truly enjoy her. She's not annoying (like Jojo) and she's not a Hannah B.

When it comes to the other guys, I'm not on a side of the Noah/Bennett thing. I don't like either. I suppose I'm an Ivan fan just because I'm curious why someone so smart (aeronautical engineer) would be on this show in the first place.

Other than that, I'm so glad they brought in Tayshia. I haven't read any spoilers. RS has been bugging me and I don't even think he has anything anyway. Clare was ridiculous and I could barely cringe my way through her episodes. And as the most unpopular opinion of the day: I didn't even find Dale attractive. Like, I just didn't get the appeal.

SW #7: Sleep training, ready to move (basically) + Quick Bachelorette thoughts

Tonight starts BIP and, I admit, that show is complete trash instead of just the half-trash I would categorize the regular Bachelor and Bachelorette as being.

I'll probably still watch every episode.

I already read the spoilers. It's a bunch of D-list contestants who all seem to settle for each other. Unless we can really believe that people are ready to get married after 3 weeks in Mexico.

Anyway. I can't imagine I'll have much to say about it because it seems like the whole season revolves around Blake, Hannah G., and Demi and they are all annoying to me.

I went unspoiled for the first time in years for Hannah's season.

I had no idea she was picking Jed because I actually don't care to deduce the behavior and words and edited clips that ABC chooses to show us in the previews; I've noticed a lot of people really pull it apart and try to figure out what's going to happen.

The working theory every season is that the lead gets rid of who, in their mind, is second as the third or fourth place finishers because it's harder. They know that, on proposal day, it's easier to let the person you're not in love with go and focus on number one. This is how the Bachelorette (women) operate anyway. Ben Higgins seemed not to go about it that way.

To start with, I don't think Tyler is going to be with Hannah for any amount of time if they are, in fact, "hanging out" right now. He was her second choice. She chose that doofus with a guitar, who pouted his way through multiple dates.

I don't really get the Tyler love, but whatever. If he was the Bachelor, it'd be fine. If Peter's the Bachelor, it'd be fine. Everything will be fine. We survived Arie, right?

Personally, I think that this season had the best possible ending. Hannah came out looking like she has really bad judgment, but at least she had the guts to admit it.

And, as far as the Christianity factor: I will reiterate that I don't care what Hannah does but I care that she has this enormous platform to show and tell what Christianity is really all about and she just...threw it away (kinda like how she threw away Tyler). Worse, she gave false doctrine and information. (And in Another Bachelor Podcast, they mention how Hannah keeps saying she's proud of herself and Oh oh oh! Isn't that that pride thing she kept saying was BAD? ...in reference to Luke.)

Alright, working backwards on that title up there ^

I spent the weekend in Pittsburgh with just Wells and, since the dogs went with Scott, I took the opportunity to deep-clean the house. I can do this with the dogs here but it's just more convenient if they're not because they get a bit displaced while I move everything about.

What I determined is that it's basically time to move.

I took many boxes to Goodwill because I'm (legit) already starting to pack. This house is not big enough and it's also not baby-friendly. I spend a lot of time trying to keep Wells away from the fireplace and now he's discovered the curtains. The dogs' water dish and the TV were our previous no-nos.

We took some stroller walks. The two trees on one side of our street are shedding leaves but literally no other trees are. It's very strange. Fall hasn't even hit Alaska yet, I'm sure.

I'm attempting to sleep train Wells.

It's not really 77 degrees in there.
The camera/sensor is just up high on the wall and our a/c comes out of the very bottom of the wall.

The basics are:

Wells puts himself to sleep each night between 7:30-8:00pm. He was waking up anywhere between one and three times a night wanting a bottle....the times were always a little different, but it always happens. While we just hand him the bottle, he drinks it, and he goes back to sleep on his own, it's annoying, it's unhealthy, and it's a terrible habit. I'd been hoping against hope that he'd just drop it on his own. I'd tried all the strategies of cutting ounces and feeding him extra during the day (the issue is perhaps that he NEVER drinks a full bottle...sometimes he wants an ounce, sometimes he wants 6 ounces). But at some point last week, I realized that I had sleep-trained him at 4.5 months in the first place and now I needed to do it again. I never cut out the nighttime bottles back then because he still technically could've needed them and all I cared about was him being able to fall asleep on his own so I could have some semblance of predictability in the evening.

ANYWAY. That was what I did this weekend. It was mentally and emotionally exhausting. Verrrry exciting. I'll update you in a week, I suppose. Maybe. I feel like I'm the least qualified person in the world when it comes to talking about baby sleep. If you, too, feel unqualified, we can commiserate together.

Tomorrow I'm talking about groceries. Things just keep getting more exciting around here.

The Bachelorette: Hometowns

I thought Peter's date was cute and successful for him. I liked his family a lot.

Tyler's date was...fine? I feel like there's such an opportunistic aura around Tyler.

Luke's date was boring but his family was nice.

You know how Jed called Luke a scumbag (or something) at the end? Luke isn't there to make a name for himself as a "musician", Jed.

It was so blatantly and kind of pathetically obvious that Jed was there for only one reason (and not the right reason).
His family was also about as unpleasant as you could possibly be on a hometown date and we have to know that it's probably because they'd already met his girlfriend of a few months ago. AND they seemed very sold on the idea of Jed being famous. I'm really confused about this. He's not good at the music thing.
Speaking of the music thing: being told I had to write and sing and record a song on a hometown date (uh, or any date at all) would be my nightmare. I hated teaching poetry to kids because coming up with words that rhymed stressed me out. Also, I can't sing. I mean, physically, I can and I've had to in the past many times, but I shouldn't. And Jed is a perfect example of just because you can sing, doesn't mean you should.

Jed's mom is all of us with her reaction to Hannah/Jed/this show.

AND how hilarious would it have been if Haley (Jed's girlfriend) had been there at Jed's house?

And here we are: This show is like an episode of The Office lately. Like on Beach Day. There's no rules. A gold star, a smiley face, etc. This is a point system with no actual consequences.

You don't want to choose 3 guys? Sure, you can have all 4.

I think Jed had a really poor reaction to getting that last rose.

Prediction: Luke and Jed go home tomorrow night. Peter wins, Tyler becomes the Bachelor and everyone continues to love him and I'll still have no idea why.

The Bachelorette: The week before hometowns

I looked at a bunch of gifs from this week's episode and realized I didn't care. It's just the same old thing: Luke is still there, Hannah is still indecisive, etc. Etc.

Etc.

But here are some random thoughts I jotted down..

Again, I don't actually mind Luke, but I hate that this has become his season and not Hannah's (even if she is allowing him to dominate the drama).

Garrett is a bully. He's grosser than Luke.

Tyler is more annoying with each week, not because he's coming off poorly, but because everyone seems to love him so much. I still don't get it.
He referred to Luke as a 5 foot 8 villain, which is a typical bully move...a real low blow.
His great tragedy in life is that his family went from rich to not-so rich and they had to move into a smaller house? Also, his parents divorced when he was a teenager. (Is he an only child? I guess we'll find out next week.)

I GUARANTEE you that if Luke had told this story, the podcasters would be talking about Luke's "white male privilege" and how he couldn't possibly understand suffering. But since it's Tyler telling the story, everyone is open and understanding and glad he "brought up" the "recession" because "no one ever has before".

And when I say "the podcasters", I mean Here to Make Friends and Bachelor Party. They don't even attempt to hide their biases and it's super annoying.

I like takes that surprise me and on Another Bachelor Podcast, the guys basically summarized that all as "cry me some more crocodile tears, Tyler", and I appreciated that.

Also, at some point, Tyler sat there in his clique of two (him and Jed) and referred to Peter as a great gentleman. Does he think the same of Jed? Because I would question his ability to read people if that's the case.

Speaking of Jed, I was driving three hours yesterday and Wells had about had it with podcasts and started screaming in the backseat and so I had to turn on the radio. I don't do this often. But a Thomas Rhett song came on and I had this thought that Huh, Jed is trying to be Thomas Rhett. Thomas Rhett is about as wholesome as you can get, so Jed is not a Thomas Rhett. Also, because Jed can't sing.

Moving on...

There's a lot of talk about Mike being the Bachelor. I'm kind of indifferent. The last two Bachelors were so terrible and Nick was a joke, so there's nowhere to go but up. Everyone knows the Bachelor is just Bachelorette auditions anyway.

Then Connor went home. I didn't care about Connor either way, but I heard a good point somewhere along the line: Hannah totally blamed him for not standing out in the crowd on group dates. So because he wasn't loud and obnoxious, she didn't pay attention to him?

Also, SHE was the one suffering from "dehydration and exhaustion" (i.e. probably alcohol poisoning) on the day of their one-on-one so that wasn't HIS fault. He tried, you know?

And finally, Kaitlyn Bristowe keeps making money off the franchise by getting involved.

#1: Literally, no one should care what she thinks.
She sells SCRUNCHIES to Generation Z as a profession.

#2: She doesn't even understand her own argument.

To be clear: I don't care what Hannah does.
But you cannot use Jesus to justify your behavior. Do what you want, but leave Jesus out of it, if that's the way you want things to be. Because then you have people who know nothing about Christianity acting like they are authorities on the subject and all the lemmings who follow them on Twitter (and can't spell worth anything, by the way), hitch their ropes to that incorrect train of thought.
Like all of a sudden, people who hate Christians and everything they stand for are saying Go girl! to Hannah like Hannah is some authority on the subject. Even Sean Lowe is jumping on board!

I had a much more articulate version of what I wanted to say there in my head yesterday. But we can talk about it if you have thoughts!

Predictions for next week:
Peter, Jed, Luke go to fantasy suites.

Bachelorette Thoughts. Week ???

I wanted to write this yesterday (but needed a nap) and then I wanted to write this last night (but Democratic debate) and then I wanted to write it this morning...but I had like 4 things to do before we had to leave for swim lessons and, let me tell you, the days we have somewhere to be at a certain time are the most stressful days. I always found it stressful in Wyoming but here it's so much worse because of the traffic. Unfortunately, in my journey to not be a SAHM recluse, I'm trying to have somewhere to go *most* days and it's starting to backfire.

So now I'm that blogger posting on a Friday afternoon, where no one will likely even see it until Monday. (I also wanted to write a Stuff and Things post for yesterday and clearly that also didn't happen. I think just the fact that I attempted to timestamp my day on Tuesday ruined the rest of the week  That will not be happening again.)

I don't know what week it is because I haven't been keeping track. Also, with that weird half-week thrown in, I think everyone's count is off.

But I did something I never do and that was that I sat on the couch and watched the show, in its entirety. (Scott watched with me.)

1. Luke P. Oh, Luke. I don't like you. I don't hate you. I don't care about you either way, to be honest.

Scott doesn't like Luke at all. I can't commit to disliking him the way I disliked, say, Corrine, but I'm just apathetic on it. I am glad he's sticking around though because I like seeing how much that fact annoys the other guys. He reminds me, like I said, of a 4th grade boy. He's just so bad at lying. But I'm perplexed about WHY everyone seems to hate him so much. He's just there, and I appreciate that he ruffles up the feathers of everyone else because they need to made uncomfortable, in my opinion. They thought this would be a smooth vacation-filled ride to extra Instagram follows but little did they know that they'd have to deal with him for 8ish weeks on the way.

Leading to..

2. Jed. Ugh. If anyone deserves a rough go, it's him. He's being deliberately deceitful and Luke is just being dumb. So who's the real jack wagon? If Luke is an idiot and Hannah wants to keep him around anyway, whatever. It's not really for us to judge that. If Jed went on the show having a girlfriend and specifically for career ambitions and we know this, I feel like we can judge the crap out of that. Also, he's-not-a-good-singer.

(Going back to the Luke thing...I hated Jordan Rodgers a few years ago. He was slimy and he was clearly the frontrunner and could do no wrong but no one ever said anything bad about him because they like wanted him to be on their podcast or something and I couldn't understand why no one would call him out for just being him...now I can't understand why they're so quick to hate Luke when he clearly won't be the winner..I mean, I'm just assuming he won't be, I guess.)

3. Peter. He's nice enough. I think he may be the winner? Or at least top two? I still don't know anything about him other than he randomly breaks into Spanish.

4. Garrett. I have this theory about Garrett. I think he's pretty two-faced. He was a nice guy on the date with Hannah and if I just saw that in a vacuum, I'd really like him. Aside from the fact that she didn't straddle him and that's the tell that he won't win, he's kind of a bully when it comes to Luke. I know these guys are bored but seriously. Garrett just comes off as incredibly immature and annoying when he's having these group discussions.

And 5. Tyler C.

I still don't get it. I think he's a showboat. I think he's just as much of a bully as Garrett but he's better at hiding it. Also, I was never a James Taylor fan. In fact, I never thought he was going anywhere either on this show three years ago or as a country singer in general and apparently there was a lot of lying, a lot of girls, and a lot of scandal. WHATEVER. I don't really care. But the little Twitter skirmish between him and Tyler just shows how dumb Tyler is.

And the thing is: James Taylor is right.  "But I can't make the Bible say what y'all want it to say in 2019". That's exactly how so many people interpret the Bible right now by twisting it to fit their beliefs and we're made to believe that because Hannah says "Jesus still loves me" that she's some authority on the subject.

It's the only watered-down version of Christianity that's acceptable on this show.

When people like Tyler, who is so loved and "respected" by the incredibly secular Bachelor podcast world, run with that and people bow down to him in response...it's annoying.

(Scott's Thoughts: He reallllllly doesn't like Luke and he thinks Hannah should maybe stop climbing on top of every guy on national television. I said that's the only way the viewers can tell who she actually likes. i.e. not Garrett.)

Thoughts?

Mid-Season Bachelorette Thoughts: Hannah

Confession: I get so much second-hand embarrassment from this show that it's hard for me to watch half the time.

So I half-watch while I fold laundry or something.

But I do listen to several Bachelor podcasts because it's just a weird sick hobby of mine, I suppose. So I do have to watch so I know what happened.

I generally start with Bachelor Party because it's up first on Tuesdays and Juliet is knowledgable and has an in with the creators so it's legit. Then I listen to Here to Make Friends but sometimes it takes a day or two to pop up. Another Bachelor Podcast generally rounds out the week and it really is funny. If I really need something to listen to, I'll listen to I Hate Green Beans over the weekend but I really don't like how Lincee tries to be so politically correct and not mention things that might be controversial. I really enjoy Some Guy in Austin though.

Anyway, if you understood that, then you're my people.

If you're new to Bacheolor podcasts, you might ask when I listen. Generally while I fold laundry or do dishes. While I drive. Sometimes while I walk the dogs.

And, a note: I'm completely unspoiled here. It's much harder to go unspoiled than you would think. I had to delete the Reality Steve podcast for the season. I did see a comment that said RS changed his "winner" so maybe there's some drama there.

Thoughts on this season...

1. I do NOT get the Tyler C. love. He is uncomfortable to look at, even. I do. not. understand. I don't care what his sob story is about his dad wanting him to go on the show. He's in it for the clicks. I mean, I appreciate the fact that he hasn't brought up his professional football career (#JordanRodgers) but he's a model. His motives are not pure.

2. Jed is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT in it for the fame/recognition and he even said so. We've reached a level of self-awareness that could never have been predicted 5 years ago. So while I admire Jed for at least owning up to it and not trying to pull a Luke Pell, he has no business calling anyone else out for supposedly being there for the wrong reasons.

3. Speaking of Lukes...I don't get the Luke P. hate. I mean, I don't like him necessarily and maybe he's made a few bad decisions, like during the rugby game, but I don't think he's evil incarnate. I mean, he's no Lee (though Lee was 100% sussed out by producers two years ago just to make waves) and he's no Corinne. There's no evidence that Luke is actually a bad person. I think he just had no idea what he was getting into and said some dumb and/or uncertain things and the show ran with it. It almost seemed like this crop of guys was just looking to make an enemy of someone and he was an easy target? To be honest, Luke P. reminds me of every 4th grade boy who's ever tried to lie to his teacher. He just comes off as uncertain and like he doesn't even believe what he's trying to say. I mean, if Hannah likes him, she likes him. I don't think he's a bad person. Like the Scott guy on the first night: HE was a bad person. There's a huge difference between that and the way Luke has been acting.

4. Mike. I really like him. He seems to have an air of common sense and maturity about him. However, I didn't really consider it at the time the episode aired but, on Another Bachelor Podcast, they talked about how he basically appropriated the joint pain he and his ex-fiancee felt over losing a baby by telling the story on national television the second he was first alone with Hannah. Like that would be the kind of thing you save for a one-on-one closer to the end of the season OR maybe for the fantasy suites when there's no cameras around. It just seemed like too much, too soon and a way to get a pity rose.

5. Garrett ruined every chance he ever had by completely ruining the cocktail party. He'll probably go home next week. Also, as was said on a podcast, his title is "golf pro" which is MUCH different than "pro-golfer". He could be a waiter at the clubhouse and read golf magazines on his breaks for all we know.

6. I do like Hannah. I think her age is starting to show in that she's probably the youngest Bachelorette and that may be where her uncertainty comes from right now.

7. I don't care for the beginning few episodes because weeding out guys like Cam and JPJ is just annoying work that needs to be done. So I don't have much to say about all of those characters.

8. Speaking of guys that need to be weeded out...can anyone even tell me the names of these three? They act like they're superior to Luke P., but I literally don't even know their names and I bet Hannah doesn't either.

Thoughts on the season???

Stuff and Things + Bachelorette talk

1. Scott asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day. I'd already ordered new jeans, new sandals, and had gotten a too-expensive pedicure at a real spa. So I wasn't sure what to say. I ended up just asking if he could order the new collars for the dogs. We had these great, amazing SportDog collars for like four years. Then, they just started dying. Scott took them apart, cleaned them, replaced batteries, put them back together, etc. Nothing worked. Since I used them every single day in Colorado, we got our money's worth and all. Especially since the dogs swam with them on and everything. Then we decided we wanted these uber-fancy GPS collars, but $$$$, so we got these placeholder collars until we wanted to spend that amount of money. These collars were $50ish for the set and we've used them for a year and they're dying on us now. Scout's stopped working months ago in Wyoming so Jett's been wearing Scout's because Jett listens and doesn't need to be shocked. Scout wears Jett's. So Scott ordered new ones last weekend and I have new dog collars to make our walks a bit easier. Cheers.

2. I bought these jeans last week. I haven't worn them yet. I haven't taken the tags off. I have the packaging saved. But they fit and another size wouldn't fit better. The higher waist thing is a bit of a scary trend to embrace, I think, but I also don't see any harm in it. Thoughts?

3. I complained quite often about our vet in Colorado. As in, if you follow that link, you'll see that just about every time I took a dog to the vet, I complained to the internet. The vet in Laramie is a vet I don't even remember that well. I think I was in there twice? Scott and I took the dogs together last summer and then I took them for rattlesnake boosters in October. Here, there's no shortage of vets nearby. I actually was going to vet-shop a bit but then there is one less than a mile away. Since they are due for their shots in June, I went in yesterday to make an appointment. I wanted to go in instead of call because I wanted to get a feel for the place. The one in Colorado smelled like a barn and I hated that. We've been to about five vets at this point and none of them ever smelled bad except for that one.

So anyway, this one was fine and the people were so nice. I made two separate appointments because there ain't no way I can take both dogs and a baby into the vet. Plus, it's very close by so maybe one dog at a time will make it not such a hateful experience. In Colorado, it was half an hour away so the thought of two separate appointments was too much to handle.

4. I don't know if anyone follows Charlie Kirk. He's interesting enough. I don't know enough about him to say I agree with all his points. He's theorizing that the person who will be the Democratic nomination for President hasn't yet announced and entered the field. Interesting, right? He says it won't be Biden or Bernie and lists out all the various reasons why in this episode of his podcast. He calls Bernie a Bolshevik a few times and I really had to LOL at that.

5. I'm going to get in some Bachelorette thoughts for Hannah's season just because I *like* Hannah. She has a more normal narrative than Becca, considering that Becca had just come off of the Arie engagement.

Again, I like Hannah. I think her motives are pretty pure.

I really like Peter, but I liked Chasen(in?) too.

I think Peter looks very much like Ben Higgins but no one on the recap podcasts mentioned this so I was disappointed...and then felt like I was just way smarter than everyone who recaps professionally.

Luke P. was smarmy and is probably a jerk in real life, but he didn't come off as nearly as evil or crazy as I expected given the tweeting I was seeing on Monday night (I didn't watch til Tuesday).

I really like Connor (S.?). Whoever had the intro package and works for automotive company. I know there's another Connor.

I don't have too much else to say actually because, again, it was just episode one and you can't tell much at this point.

She definitely looked like an elementary school teacher marching Scott out the front door, though, after the he-has-a-girlfriend debacle.

The big news is that I'm going UNSPOILED for the first time, like, ever. Because I like Hannah and I want to be semi-surprised. I did see a brief final four write-up but I only remember one name on the list so I'll just avoid RS from here on out.
Funnily enough, I had just skimmed his posts about Colton's season months ago because I didn't really care much and could've sworn Caelynn was the winner. When my friend told me it was Cassie (a month before the finale), I was genuinely shocked.

Are you watching?

In case you missed it...I posted a nursery on Monday, books on Tuesday, and why I don't care if you're a fur mom yesterday.
