Lows:
I've lost my voice because I have a cold-ish thing. When you have to talk all day and you have a cold, the voice is the first to go.
I spent all week trying to get Jett to the vet. Such a long story. She ended up throwing in a ultrasound of his abdomen for free because she herself wanted to know what was going on. That's how I know I've broken the system with this dog. Really, she wanted to see with an x-ray if he had a hernia and if it was an emergency where I needed to take him to the ER for treatment. It's not. She did give me some very actionable steps (he has a cyst) which is good, and we'll take him to Columbia in January to see about getting it removed. Scott always says he's done spending money on dogs but you and I both know that's not true.
I cannot even explain the clusterf*** of yesterday. I am so tired. Managing two children plus getting Jett to the vet plus an after school function plus taking care of children all day when you feel like a lot of parents are abdicating responsibility (yeah, I'll say it) is so much work. Scott doesn't understand why I don't just take a day off. He also doesn't understand how much work that would be to plan for. In addition, when I generally am reliable and independent and don't need to be watched and managed (this is what makes me think of Michael Scott), I can do things like randomly leave an hour early a few days a month for appointments (like the vet) without them caring. I don't even ask for permission; I just say "hey, I need to leave at 2" and they'll find me coverage and that's that. If you are chronically unreliable, higher-ups are suspicious. (that's a tip for anyone trying to enter the work force :)
Other lows include the 3 packages I was supposed to have delievered this week: all delayed. Including the fact that I decided I'd splurge on Stitchfix because I generally have good luck with their clothes and I love their cardigans and I need some new items...and then I sent it to 22545 Sagebrush Lane, Colorado Springs by mistake.
Highs:
I think we're making real progress with potty training.
My air purifier broke....but Shark is sending me a new one. My favorite when it comes to how-well-do-they-work is the Edenpure but we also had one of those break and they wouldn't replace it, so no more Edenpure :/
Honestly, there's a lot of good but I'm very bogged down in the day-to-day (minute-to-minute?) right now. I'll try again next week.
