You Will Never Be Me by Jesse Q. Sutanto 5 stars
I grabbed this at the library a few weeks ago because I thought that I had seen it on someone's blog or I had seen it on Kindle but didn't feel like buying it. It's really good! A perfect mystery. This reminded me of that one that came in Book of the Month a few years ago that was just okay, but this one was hard to put down.
The Bears on Hemlock Mountain by Alice Dalgliesh
I got this at a local coffeeshop. They have books to borrow and read and I'd never seen it before. I was looking for something "classic" to read to Wells. This was short, 10 chapters, and held both of our interests. I would hand this to any 2nd or 3rd grader. I'd never seen it before but the Newbery Honor fits it. It's a little adventure story about a boy gaining some independence.
No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall 3.5 stars
This was good. I read it on Kindle from the library. I waited a long time. It was longer than it needed to be and, honest to goodness, I can't quite remember (a week later) what happened at the end? But it's worth a read if you like the thriller/mystery genre.
This pushes me to my goal for 2024 a month early. I set the goal a little lower this year on purpose but it's nice not to have to scramble to finish the goal. I did, however, have a ton of did-not-finish books so honestly, I easily could've hit 50 if I'd put down social media or turned off the TV and plowed through books I wasn't loving. Good thing I don't care about that :)
