Amazon lately...and a few buys worth mentioning.

In this month's edition of what-did-scott-order-on-amazon, we have all the furnace parts. This is what I'm talking about in reference to Amazon just being the lesser of all the evils: he is slowly replacing all the parts of our furnace in an effort to figure out what could be wrong with it. He tried to order from smaller businesses/websites but they told him they couldn't get him parts until Feb-ru-ar-y. So he ordered almost everything from Amazon and saved $500 in the process. And almost all of the parts have arrived within the week. Jeff Bezos is not some hero of the people, but there's a reason why this business model works, you know?

Me, on the other hand...I am implementing a spending ban because holy cow. Things got a little crazy in December. I do believe I need to impose a Target ban on myself for a month or so. You see, I order a lot of formula from Target and it's really easy just to throw whatever else in the cart and have it arrive in 3-5 days. I don't think I *need* to be buying formula from Target so maybe I'll stop that. Plus, PRAISE BE, we've only got a couple of months left of formula (though that kind of makes me want to cry sad tears too).

oh, and Happy New Year. As Wells has been saying for days "...and when will it be a happy new year?". The happy part is tbd I guess, but it's definitely a new year.

This phone case is actually pretty great, so I totally recommend if you need a new one. It has that really nice silicone feel with the microfiber lining and there's a $4 coupon right now.

Screen protectors OBVIOUSLY. When I went to the store to activate my new phone, the guy said "I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask if you had a case and screen protector."
Side note: We have Cricket and completely, 100% recommend them. They are so much cheaper than the "big" networks. Fantastic service too, because they run off of AT&T.

If you haven't tried gua sha, you should. It's a great way to de-stress. Relieves sinus pressure too. I like to use the Beauty Counter cleansing oil but any serum or moisturizer works great too, once you've done whatever nightly face routine you're into.

I prefer the smell of the Paws & Claws detergent for our Hoover scrubber. It's much lighter and less floral than some of the others.

***In case you missed it last week, I posted the scooter Wells got for Christmas and the stacking cups that are pretty much the perfect baby gift***

Other than that, here's to not getting a box or four on the porch every day in January :)

  1. I know what you mean about the spending freeze for January. December was kind of crazy, with gifts and also both kids home from college. We use ATT Go Phone which sounds like the same thing as Cricket. It's so cheap and I love it! Thanks so much for linking up with Prime Purchases! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road

  2. I am also trying to rein it in. I am going to let myself order needs and wants but ...man is it a fine line, right? I think I need the gua sha stone as I head back to school today!

  3. I feel the same! I'm putting myself on an Amazon time out. Minus the things that I order that are necessities like shampoo and conditioner, and when my makeup runs out. And minus the brow pencil Tanya made me order yesterday. 🤣😜

  4. Funny you say you need to stop going to Target - I need to go to Target, I have so many GC from kids that I need to spend. My problem is I either forget them or I don't need to shop and they are building up.
