Friday Recommendations #7

1. Breathe Right strips.

I have been suffering a sinus infection (which they tell me is not actually a sinus infection) for two months. On and off, on and off. The closer I get to having this baby, the more it flares up. So, now it's "allergies + pregnancy", they say and they won't give me anything but Flonase (doesn't work) and Claritin (to be determined). I've tried every homeopathic remedy out there. I grabbed these strips at the store the other day and, I must say, they really do work. It's kind of amazing. I don't wear one all the time, but they help when I need them. If you are a no-med person, they could be a solution for you.

2. Better Call Saul.

The best news I've heard in a very long time is that new episodes are coming to Netflix in a few weeks. So I've been rewatching previous seasons. I stand by it: there has never been a better-done TV universe than the one created by Vince Gilligan. It's seamless.

3. Ryan Long comedy. It's priceless.

4. I feel like I've been spending so much money on groceries lately. It's insane. Call it nesting or whatever too, but I've been laying in supplies of random things I won't feel like seeking out after baby is born and/or buying ahead for things like Easter.

For anyone who says you can't track inflation to current (failed) fiscal policy, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. But you can't afford it, anyway. (I suppose the recommendation here is to believe nothing you see on the news.)

5. Memes and tweets:

  1. The inflation is crazy. A gallon of milk has now doubled in price in our area. Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. The amount I am spending at the grocery store is absolutely insane. And at the gas pump. But you know, blame Russia. Even though these prices have been rising at a steady pace since that wacko took office. I am so over it and all the gaslighting. The amount of mental gymnastics these people do on MSM and social media is astounding.
