{Currently} the first week in February

Loving... I don't know that I *love* going to the chiropractor but I like her and I like knowing that I'm doing what I can to maintain and prevent damage...i.e. extra work it will take to get back to normal later. I have a very posterior baby here and so there's a lot of pressure on my lower back and legs. The chiropractor has validated that I'm not crazy and my right hip is definitely "stuck" and trying to manipulate that now will save me the hassle later. So $40 a week for the next 6 weeks + a few weeks after baby to realign things. If we're going to invest, it might as well be in our health, I suppose.

Making... I made this the other night. I split it into two 8x8 pans and froze one. Very good. I added zucchini and used canned-in-water artichokes, not ones in oil.

Taking... the opportunity to rest this week. It's Missouri so that means we never have just a delay or a snow day; the entire place shuts down for 2-3 days. I still have to teach virtually for a few hours a day, but cutting out the getting ready and the commute and the packing up and unpacking...it's much more restful. I do get, now, why you all like working from home. (I don't know how much I'll be able to get done with a 3 year old and two dogs and a husband also working from home though.)

Wanting... to wear whatever clothes I want to again. I am painfully rotating the same 8 or 9 outfits and I don't like it. However, I also refuse to buy anything exclusively maternity so this might be a "me" problem. A Hatch (by Target) maternity dress is like $90(!!1!). These two dresses, just sized up, were $10 a piece. Now I've got 11 outfits.

Wondering... if I should bake brownies this week...

  1. I never bought anything specifically maternity either...except tank tops because they were longer! You're a wise woman!

  2. That pasta looks amazing! Always yes to brownies! With frosting! The chiro helped me when my back went out from lifting two babies. I could get used to a hybrid approach to school with a couple of in person days and a couple of virtual days. Our virtual schedule is intense and I have to set alarms on my phone because it’s a different schedule than normal. I am doing that today and maybe tomorrow.
Hope you feel good for the rest of the pregnancy!

  3. Yes to brownies. Always. Hope you got some rest in last week, even teaching virtually.

  4. I'm late on all my blog reading and decided to try and catch up with the "Currently" posts tonight :) I was fortunate in that my sister-in-law had just started a business selling maternity clothing so I was able to get a ton of outfits from her for not very much money because she was trying to grow her business. But I also wore a lot of non maternity stuff too.
