Friday Favorites #2

I'm tracking Friday Favorites through the school year. Keep me accountable and positive and all that good stuff.

As I said the other day, it's a heavy week and it only seemed to get worse after I posted. However, this is a bunch of frivolous somewhat nonsense that makes me happy enough. Upon reflection, this is pretty much just an Amazon list of what I bought this week. Oh well.

1. I pre-ordered Liane Moriarty's new book.

I have no idea what it's even about, but I'll listen to Caroline Lee read aloud all day long. I used to exclusively listen to Moriarty's books and then when I started reading them, I never enjoyed them as much. I still remember what a great listening experience Big Little Lies was.

2. I splurged on Starbucks espresso pods. I'm sorry but it was totally worth it.

Actual Nespresso pods don't work in our Mueller machine but I wanted something more high-quality than the brand we'd been using. If you know of a good brand, let me know.

3. I also pre-ordered this book:

I desperately need something like this in my morning routine again.

4. Scott went out to a hibachi place with a bunch of work people and I asked him how it went (I ate chips and queso at home, if you're wondering). He said "it was fine...it was hibachi and I was down at the end so I couldn't really hear what they were saying" and I laughed and said "oh like Dwight on Benihana Christmas" and he just looked confused and I can't believe I married someone who doesn't have every episode of The Office memorized.

5. Tomorrow I'm getting lowlights in my hair for the first time in my life. I've decided I just don't want to lighten it anymore and I definitely don't feel like doing it myself. It's such an endeavor with a child around. Takes a whole chunk of the weekend. So, I'm going to attempt going to a professional. Fingers crossed.

They canceled "Diversity Day" (one of the greatest episodes in all of comedy) from "Comedy" Central. Want to bet that Benihana Christmas is next??

  1. I definitely appreciate Liane Moriarity books more if I listen to them as well. I love her older stuff so much!! Her latest two have been my least favorites. I hope this new one is going to be awesome like the older stuff.
