Holy cow. I just cannot get it together to write a blog post this week.
Wells and I literally did nothing but watch TV all weekend. It was too smoky outside to go anywhere with him. So that was a vitamin-D-less weekend.
Kick, kick, kick
Monday was hard and I just remember napping and walking the dogs and making dinner. I do not remember eating dinner.
Tuesday was a 3:30am wakeup and then I couldn't go back to sleep so I was wide awake for the gym at 6am. I did that 3:30am feeding because Scott had been up until 1am doing schoolwork, so I decided to let him sleep. Or something like that.
(It's not even the problem that the baby's up in the middle of the night...it's that *I* can't go back to sleep on command. Caffeine doesn't even help at this point during the day. I'm just one of those people who does not do well without solid hours of sleep.)
It takes a shocking amount of effort for me to remember to do this post. In fact, my success rate is so high that this is my second link-up in, like, years of blogging. I never remember it until I see everyone else posting on the day of.
What we're eating this week...
Chicken Chili
The recipe is super basic but I got it from The Balanced Life. It's just these basic ingredients, put into a crockpot for 6-7 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
(That's concentrated chicken broth..you just add water.)
What I'm reminiscing about...
Fall is a reminiscent time in general, I think.
I often think about past school years.
What I'm loving...
Fall has definitely arrived in Wyoming. I woke up on Monday to leaves all over the yard.
AND that means the #GreatPumpkinSwap is starting next week! I'll have details posted on here and on my Instagram on Monday if you want to join in...remember, it's an Instagram-only swap this year, so you don't even need a blog!
Sign-ups begin October 1st!
What we've been up to...
Scott shot an antelope yesterday.
(Pictures are on my Instagram stories...we don't need that kind of blood and gore posted here, right?)
What I'm dreading...
Not knowing when I'll get a full night's sleep again? Sure.
What I'm working on...
Throwing things away. Getting rid of things I don't want/need does make me feel like I have a bit of control. I gave away 4 bags of clothes a few weeks ago. This week, I'm donating a ton of barely used dog toys to the animal shelter. Seriously, our dogs don't do toys.
What I'm excited about...
Moving away from the west. Ash was falling from the sky over because of the fires in Wyoming and Colorado over the weekend. I could do without worrying about lung health.
Haze and ash
What I'm watching/reading...
I've been watching America's Next Top Model reruns (more on this tomorrow) and we started Poldark. Scott got really into it though and kept going without me, so now I'm a season and a half behind. He uses words like "wraith" and "piffle" a lot now. Yesterday, I came home to him building a fire in the fireplace and talking about how fun it'd be to live in one of those big stone manor houses.
Does the name Demelza really bug anyone else? I cannot stand the way it sounds.
Also, I read 2 or 3 books in one weekend two weeks ago and I haven't touched a book since. Whatever.
What I'm listening to...
Most of the time, I listen to the forest sounds of the baby's bouncer or the white noise machine. I don't know how I would sleep without that now. I love the Hatch Rest and how it connects to my phone.
What I'm wearing...
I intended to share the new sweatshirt I picked up at Wal-Mart and just love. It's not on the website, but all I buy is low price workout gear these days. However, it was thrown up on so it's in the laundry.
Instead, this is what Wells is wearing...
A new outfit from our friends
What I'm doing this weekend...
I think I may (may) venture out to Target. Most days, the idea of driving 45 minutes is annoyingly overwhelming. The last time we drove that far, all I wanted to do was take a nap when I got there.
What I'm looking forward to next month...
The Great Pumpkin Swap, of course!
(Seriously, come back Monday if you want sign-up instructions :)
Also, maybe making some real progress on our to-do list concerning...everything.
What else is new...
I feel like I said this last time, but everything is still new. New town, new house, no job, new baby (so technically that's my new job, I guess)
My to do list keeps growing!
ReplyDeleteConfession - glad I missed that IG Story - I would have screamed.
