Monday + funny stuff (because it's Monday, right?)

The bonus of staying home is that Mondays don't matter anymore.

We watch a lot of tv together.

The downside is that I don't sleep.

Rarely happy during a diaper change.

I applied for a part-time (work from home) job and I didn't get it. This is like the third time I've not gotten a job like this. I've had terrible luck with finding new jobs in the last year or so.

Dog-themed clothing is always a welcome gift.

I just felt the need to do something professionally meaningful? One does not just quit after 10 years of working without feeling a gap in their day-to-day. (Actually, I think I just miss getting dressed in real clothes.)

So is Penn State clothing. He was mad that his hat was too big.

It's not lost on me that if I were going back to real work after a maternity leave, that would likely be at any time.

More tv.

I can't even imagine how logistically and organizationally difficult that would be. Not to mention that I haven't been away from Wells for more than 2-3 hours at this point.

A handmade baby-bath-towel gift from a military wife friend.

I am more than lucky that working has been a choice and I don't have to go back to a job while Wells is young if I don't want to. I feel for everyone who has to go back to work and leave a two-month old at home.

And let's be clear: I'm not even saying I have time for anything else right now. I think I just feel like I *should* have time for it. To make it even clearer, my two big "projects" this weekend were to paint my nails and highlight my hair. I'd been meaning to do those two things for almost three weeks.

Waiting for an appointment. He stayed awake the whole time we were there.

Onto the funny stuff:

Maybe I'm not getting these part-time internet jobs because my skills online are comparable to this:

Now that Scott is starting back to school this week, I was thinking about joining a gym here. Here is one of the classes they offer:

After watching season one of The Good Doctor, I got some severe hypochondria and was reminded why I don't watch medical shows:

Ohio State is in trouble. While I don't wish unfortunate events on the people themselves, the football program can sink and I'd be okay with it.

And for some Monday motivation, this is probably my very favorite quote and I don't even know where it came from:

How true.

  1. Wells is so cute, but I’m sure it’s hard to adjust to having a child. And on top of it you’re not going back to work and that’s a big lifestyle change too. I love all your memes... so funny! Hunt Fit?! Is that really necessary ?

  2. I had lots to say about stay at home mom life and how easy it is to fall into a funk of "what is my life now?!" (put on real clothes. Highlight your hair! paint your nails! Do what you need to do to feel HUMAN and GOOD and anyone else can straight up just go away. (Chose them words SO nicely haha) BUT ultimately got distracted by how accurate those dang boards, and adulthood quotes are. Especially the last one about needing a different version of you.... too true.

Comments make my day!
