Confessions 2/22

Just a few things I've been thinking over the last week or so....

+I'm quite curious about how NBC can tout Shaun White on the Olympics when he's likely in the same camp as Matt Lauer, when it comes down to it. Matt Lauer was fired overnight. Shaun White gets commercials and interviews and whatnot.  Also, Savannah Guthrie sounds like she's asking him about what he had for breakfast in that clip I linked, not why he was being sued for sexual harassment.

+I wear the same shoes (brown boots) almost every day. It's just easier.

+When adults spell "fave" as "fav", my eye starts to twitch. Magic "e"s cause vowels to say their name, guys.

+I would never go to see The Greatest Showman just based on the fact that they've glorified (through song!) a verrrrry sketchy individual.  Even if half the stuff in that article is true, it's enough to show he's awful.

+I stopped listening to Happier with Gretchen Rubin and Happier in Hollywood with Liz and Sarah last fall. I just can't take the ridiculousness of their first-world whining anymore. They just started getting...dumb? If I want to listen to meaningless rambling, I'll listen to Bachelor recaps.

+Season 9 of The Office is a million times better than season 8. The reason why I never watched season 9 in real time was because I hated season 8 so much (I think it's because I don't like James Spader).

+I'm honestly thrilled to give Jett a human sibling. He adores babies and toddlers so much. He knows they're perfect petting height and he really just wants to be petted and hugged all day long. My precious Scout is a one-man dog and is into hunting and pretending he doesn't like to sleep next to me in the middle of the night (when he thinks I won't notice). But Jett will be so excited. I can already tell he'll be the best big brother (I would also love to get him a puppy but maybe next year...).

  2. I can't see the Greatest Showman either - I want to just because of all the great reviews, but I can't handle anything that is circus-related. The entire time I'd be thinking about the eventual animal cruelty. I've whittled down my shoe collection to the basics. Makes getting dressed easier. Also, I don't care if my shoes don't match as much as if they're old-lady-comfy.

  5. Funny you should mention the greatest showman .A client came in raving about it and was almost ashamed when I said I didn't like it. She's like you gotta watch it again and I just don't think I can.

  6. It's fun seeing the relationship between animals and little kids. Our pup is still not so sure about E. She doesn't hate her she just looks at her like she is exhausting haha.

  7. I haven't listened to Happier... in a while (I never listened to the Liz one because it's not relevant to me in any way) because I felt like it got to patronising level. Stuff like, try packing yourself a snack to work to avoid getting hungry! Also it began to feel fairly non-inclusive; no particular regard for people who aren't middle class WASPs. Completely agree, too much rambling, not enough helpful tips.

  8. I won't see The Greatest Showman just because I loathe musicals, but now I definitely won't see it after reading that article. :( I want to get our Lab a puppy as well...we're thinking next year, too. :)

  9. Last year we got a puppy for our older dog. Next year we're getting a puppy for that puppy, because older dog isn't as playful as current puppy needs. It's a never ending cycle.

  10. Bo & Owen have grown up together and it's been the best relationship. Dogs and babies are great together! Not all of course, but I think Jett's gonna LOVE baby!
