Stuff and Things... 10/27

Last one in October...whew...

I don't understand these people who say the year is "just flying by!!!".

My sympathy meter is at like .000004% when it comes to people who lament about "losing" their husbands to hunting season. PA friends, I'm looking at you.

Also, even when my husband is here, he hunts. I've got deployments AND hunting season. And duck-hunting season is much longer than deer season, I'll have you know.

(Jensen Ackles, your facial expressions make this too easy.)

Onto other topics...I'm pretty sure that, at this point during the deployment four years ago, I was sitting in my car each day at lunchtime. It was a dark time. I'm getting to that point again.

I've stopped checking my work email at home. It doesn't matter if I'm doing nothing but looking up gifs of Jensen Ackles and Zooey Deschanel. I'm not checking my work email at home anymore because this is what happens when I do:

Okay, that wasn't really another topic...

So I've not been watching The Walking Dead at all in the last two years. It just started to lose me. I've read up on what happened on the premiere (no spoilers here), and I'm still just meh. I am a die-hard fan of seasons 1-3 and I would like to, once again, thank Rick for naming this link-up for me.

Tell me something good! What's your favorite gif?

  1. I also stopped checking work email at home for the same reason. Which then followed up with me being kept up at night, ruminating about said emails. Not worth it!
Hang in there girl--rooting for you!

  2. I wouldn't even know how to look up a gif. Haha. I can empathize with slow moving days and life ruts. Hope things brighten up this week and into the weekend!

  3. My boss rang me last night at 7.30pm when I was out for a celebration dinner. I did not answer.

This year's been more of a marathon than a sprint for me, too. I don't have a deployed husband though so I'm not going to complain!

  5. i never check my work email at home because i spend all day doing that and my family time is my family time. the only exception is if we have a deployment about to happen, then i do but other than that, nope. work emails can wait.

  7. I agree with you on the people saying they're "losing" their husbands to hunting season. Blech. It's like the people I see post about being a "single mom" while the other person is away for the evening or a few days. Um. No. Being a single mom is a whole other beast.

  8. I'm one of those who feels like the year is kind of flying by...I honestly can't really believe it's almost November already. BUT if I were in your shoes, I guarantee it would be dragging, too. Even the 3 1/2 months Isaiah was in the academy felt like a whole year.

I do miss the old Walking Dead. The newer seasons are fine and all (though I'm always a year behind because I have to wait for Netflix) but there are SO many new characters and I really don't care for most of them. As long as they don't kill off Daryl, Glenn or Maggie I'll keep watching, but...the rest, meh.

  9. While my husband could care less about any of the hunting seasons, I feel like Im a part of it because my cousin is waiting for duck season to be over because her boyfriend supposedly promised he was going to propose then. Why he has to wait, I dunno, guess to buy him time but I want it to be over to see what happens. I say he's not going to...we will see!

As for WD - I don't watch it but I did with the family Sunday and let me say I havent heard a grown 47 year old woman shriek with all that happened during it in a long time.

  12. I do not watch The Walking Dead and have no plans to, either.

I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time. Let me know if I can help.
