Currently.

Reading... Certainly not blogs. Or books. I'm not sure what I'm doing with all my time.

Loving... all these options from Rodan+Fields. Check out this post to see how you can get a FREE bottle of sunless tanner!

Buying....a new hot water heater. Ours has been leaking on and off for the better part of a year. It was only going to be a matter of time before it exploded and damaged the whole house like the neighbor's did a few months ago. Good-bye money.

Appreciating... That Scott rebuilt the fence. Now Scout is trapped and I won't find him in the field at 6:30am anymore.

Wondering... What exactly I'm supposed to do with myself for the next almost-year while Scott is deployed.

Eating...healthier stuff.  I've been living off of sugar for the last three weeks (I have a desk full of candy at school) and I was starting to feel it. Reminds me of that time I had a candy dispenser in my classroom.  Disastrous.

This is what I ate for a snack last week. While the kids watched. Fail.

Drinking...iced stuff like the tea above and some Panera iced coffee. I'm not ready for summer, but I like iced drinks better than warm ones.

Watching...11.22.63 on Hulu. I adore James Franco and the book was amazing. I told Scott about the show and I said Yeah, it has James Franco in it. He's the one who's always with Seth Rogen and Scott said I know who James Franco is, Kristin.
And then I mentioned it to Scott's friend and he said it was one of his favorite books ever and we had a lively conversation about it. I never get to talk to people IRL about books. It was nice.

Feeling... that there's always too much to do.

Failing... I don't know that I'm failing at things right now. Probably writing. It's already 2 months into 2016 and I've worked on my ebook exactly no times.

Succeeding....on cleaning my classroom. I went all KonMari on my shelves and boxes and cupboards.  Just like at home, I wasn't even nice about it. I gave things away to kids that I thought they might like and I threw loads of other stuff away.

Keeping...up with friends and friends-to-be. There's some army wives here I'd like to get to know better and I will also be planning time/dates with co-workers.

Planning... On really relaxing this spring break. Like truly just getting like 10 books and laying around, reading them all.

What's *currently* going on with you?

  1. Ugh to the hot water heater--those things are such a pain! Glad you're getting yours replaced, but I know it's $$$. You had a candy dispenser in your room?? I could definitely see how that would be dangerous and disastrous haha

  2. I prefer iced drinks, especially tea.

11/22/63 is on both my to-read and to-watch list. I'm going to get the husband to sign up for a Hulu free trial so I can watch it (I blew through mine watching The Following).

Hooray for a fixed fence and not finding the dog in the field!

  3. I love iced drinks over warm drinks, I always have.

My coworker just came in with a story of a bad hot water heater this morning.

The fence makes me happy and it's not even mine.

  4. We need a new hot water heater soon, too. I don't think ours has been replaced since the house was built in the 80's. It's really awesome owning a house, but really not awesome having to pay for those types of things. Adult problems...

Thanks for the show recommendation! I noticed it on Hulu the other day and meant to go back and check it out. Also added the book to my list of to-reads because I love me a good historical fiction book.

  5. If I were you I'd try to travel a bit or explore Colorado and surrounding states more when you have that year to do things. Go more south and ride the Durango Silverton Train and explore the smaller cities. It be fun!

  7. Don't you hate adulting? We had to replace our water heater and heat pump within 6 months of moving into our house, not fun.

  8. We need to do that fence-building activity. Our dogs have a hole in one board that they look through. It's only a matter of time that hole grows, and they escape.

I often say that the sacrifices military men & women make are spread out much more than just as individuals. It's their families and loved ones too.

I could snack on jelly beans, gummy bears, starburst all day, every day if my teeth wouldn't rot.
