Stuff and Things 11/5

Stuff, Things, etc.

+Who's watching Jane the Virgin?  I can't stop.  I can.not stop. I watched 22 episodes in just a few days.  *hangs head in shame*  And then I downloaded a free trial of Hulu so I could catch up on season 2 and now I'm on track to watch season 2, episode 5 next week.  If only I applied this kind of dedication to other areas of my life...

+A kid told me he couldn't find "plume" in the dictionary, so I looked it up for him online. After the definition (of which I knew already, I swear), the first search result was this restaurant in Washington D.C.  I spent a good 15 minutes looking at the menu over my lunch break.  Then I thought, So this is how the other half lives.

+Did you you see this post that Joey wrote?  It's about how some people don't believe that you can be a family unit without kids.  And I would recommend that you just go to her blog to read it because she put all of my feelings into a super eloquent post.

+I figured Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were dating.  I told Scott over the summer, "It's a little too convenient that they both got divorced at the same time" (yes, we intermittently watch The Voice). He didn't believe me.

+I found this Pin in which a professor drew the map himself because he couldn't project one.  I chuckled and then remembered that I did the same thing once.  I still have this homemade map hanging in my classroom.  (I miss those Christmas lights. Colorado has weird laws and I had to take them down last year.)

+Last night, I was trying to get Scout to lay down so I could clean his ears.  He ran under the bed to hide.  I pulled out the "special" treats.  He came running to get one and then took.it.under.the.bed.  He has never ever done that.  He just knows that I can't fit under the bed and if he goes to the exact middle, I can't reach that far, so I also won't be dragging him out.

Anyway.

The Great Pumpkin Swap link-up is TOMORROW! Come back here or go to Becky's blog to share your post!

  2. 1. I think you just picked out my weekend activity. I've been lusting for a binge netflix all day kind of weekend, but I didn't have a show to watch. 2. Thank you for the shout out. That post was hard to write and I had a vulnerability hangover the day it went live, so I'm glad people are resonating with it. 3. Bailey does that when we try to apply ANYTHING to her. She sees the bottle and bolts under the bed. Also, I had no idea that Blake & Gwen were together...that's sort of...weird to me.

  3. I thought it was too convenient that they both got divorced at the exact same time, but I didn't want to believe they were actually dating :( Your dog's a smart one haha.

  5. Who says dogs aren't smart?

You reminded me I should cancel Hulu because we never use it but I pay for it.

I just heard about Gwen & Blake this morning.

  6. LOVE Jane the Virgin! I just got caught up on season 2 last night. I'm off to read that blog post, since one of my pet peeves is people who call a family complete once they have children!

  8. Blake and Gwen...when they break up, how will that affect the show? Won't it be weird? This is why you don't date coworkers.

I don't understand why people have to fit everyone into their definition of a family. Your family is what you make it, kids or not.

  11. I couldn't get into the Jane show - I may try it again on break or something since you've said you like it so much.

Thanks for linking over to Joey's post. We get these issues with our friends every single day. Right on point!

  12. I've been watching "Jane the Virgin" too. I'm not as far as you are, but I was hooked after just a few episodes. I love the crazy characters. And the premise for the series was pretty outrageous too.

  13. I am very unhappy about this Blake and Gwen thing. I haven't watched The Voice in a while. I gave up watching shows that required so much commitment during the week (except Big Brother because that's in the summer, and what else to I have to do??). BUT to me, they don't seem compatible. Or perhaps, I love Miranda, and I thought she and Blake were perfect together. But hey, I'm still upset that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston broke up, and THAT was forever ago....
