Stuff and Things 7/16

Stuff, Things, etc.

+Note the new Stuff & Things button on the sidebar.

+These last two days of getting out of the house by 7am and sitting in a class all day have been eye-opening.  I'm obviously quite used to sleeping in.  I love routine but hate schedules in which I need to be up at 5am.  I only have 3 full weeks until school starts.  (I'm going to let that sink in for a second.)

+Did you participate in Amazon #PrimeDay?  I didn't.  I spend enough time on Amazon as it is.
I heard it wasn't that great.

However, I still think Wal-Mart's stupid and their ad campaign of "you shouldn't have to spend $100 for a great deal" is even stupider.  I pay for free shipping from Amazon, Walmart.  I pay for the privilege of shopping online with free shipping. I also pay for streaming t.v. shows and movies and Prime Panty privileges so I don't have to come to your store. Sometimes, dear Walmart, I don't think you could pay me to shop in your store, let alone would I ever spend a "fee" to cross the threshold.

+This 100 Years of Fashion video popped up on Facebook.  I was a sucker and clicked.  It was kind of fascinating.

+Indulge me for a second:  Let's talk about microdermabrasion.  Do you use a microderm product?  I use this paste from Rodan+Fields twice a week.  I didn't realize how much I missed that component I'd gotten used to with Pro-Activ until I tried this one. I've used it twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays, oddly), at night, since last August and I just now had to open up a new tub.  That's how long it lasts! And there were weeks where I had some breakouts and I would use it more than two times too.  I think that was money well-spent.

There's also a lip microdermabrasion paste and a body bar of the same formula that is designed to clear out the clogged pores that cause body acne.

+Also, I got an email the other day saying that money was added to my Rodan+Fields debit card.  That's how they pay you.  They just add money to an account that is connected to a debit card and you just...spend it.  That's kind of awesome.  Because I didn't have to write lesson plans, teach children, or get up early to earn that money.  I just had to talk to people. (Interested in doing the same? Let me know! They're always hiring :)

  1. I need to buy some R&F stuff from you soon-ish. I want the acne system. My face is still good... but now that baby is here, it'll go bad eventually.

  2. Hahaa that article about Prime Day cracked me up. It really wasn't what it was hyped up to be, was it?! Setting any alarm that begins with a 5 or less is unacceptable in my book. I hope you get lots of sleep ins before school starts!

  3. I got my sunscreen! So far so good.

I hate the early wakeup but at the same time would like to condition myself to get up earlier.

  5. Haha that Twitter meme is too funny. I attempted to look on Amazon during Prime Day, but it just didn't seem that appealing to me, and there was nothing I needed so I didn't spend too much time trying to figure out if there were any good deals for me.

  6. I also heard that Prime Day was disappointing...a group of teachers I know were convinced it was going to be amazing and were all let down. I didn't even bother to look.

I need to get back into the routine of getting up early. I'm not ready to think about how quickly summer will be over and school will be starting.

  7. I am so with you, you can't pay me to go to Walmart most days!!! Amazon Prime is so worth it!!! Even if I didn't buy anything from the sale. I wake up at 430am during the week, so my schedule would probably not work for you lol. But to be honest, I used to hate it. But after awhile I got used to it. I naturally wake up between 6-7 am on days that I don't work (the weekends mainly) and I just get so much more done in the mornings. If I wake up later than 8am...I feel like I have wasted half the day. Of course, I go to bed the same time a child does probably haha!

  8. Ha the walmart response is epic. I can't believe them sometimes. I absolutely loathe walmart and I'm so thankful to be in a town that has Target again!
