Stuff and Things 11/27

Happy Thanksgiving!

+I don't like Stovetop stuffing, but I like pilgrims.

+In fact, I never ate stuffing until last year.  My friend made a cornbread stuffing and it was so good that I'm making it again this year.

+I don't really like turkey.  I love the way it smells and we have a "perfect turkey button" on our new oven so we're making one, but I probably won't eat much.  The turkey has always been Scott's thing.

+I'm trying something new with Brussels sprouts today.  Cross your fingers.

+Also on the menu: Trader Joe's recipe for green bean casserole.  I think I might bake some cookies too.  I thought about sweet potatoes, but we eat those like every other day anyway.

+No pie for dessert.  I only like pecan pie and there is no reason why I need to bake myself a pecan pie because I will definitely eat it all in two days.  Pumpkin pie I don't like.  And all those other types of pies just put fruit in dessert and I don't really believe in that.

+I'm particularly thankful for the new mowing attachment that Scott got for the four-wheeler.  We have a yard again!

  1. Sweet potato pie!! That's what I made for tomorrow.

What are you doing with sprouts??

    Happy Thanksgiving, friend!!

  2. I've never really been a fan of turkey, either. Usually I spend all my stomach-space on side dishes, and don't save any room for meat until the meals made of leftovers, anyways!

  3. I don't like pumpkin pie either, so I made a chocolate cream pie instead. :)

  4. Happy Thanksgiving! I'm not a huge turkey eater, but I love cranberry sauce, so I load up on that ;)

  5. I use to never be a stuffing fan until one of my stepmom's friends brought it a few years ago and now I love it. It was very tasty this year!! Hope you had a great day :)

  6. I consider fruit in puddings to be a conspiracy. What's wrong with chocolate!?

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

  7. I don't eat pie either, but I made a pecan and pumpkin pie both from scratch ONLY for J. That kid is so freaking spoiled haha. I also don't believe in fruit in dessert. If it doesn't have chocolate in it, it's not dessert, in my opinion. I never knew that what my mom serves as "stuffing" isn't actually stuffing until J and I finally got to spend thanksgiving together. Our stuffing is rice-a-roni with celery, onions and ground beef. J leans over and is like "why is there meat in your stuffing." I didn't understand what he meant until we went to his grandparents house the next day and their stuffing was all bread. Either way, I didn't make any stuffing this year. hah.

  8. Thanks so much for hosting this fun giveaway! I agree with you on Stovetop. My mom makes a great Italian-style stuffing and it's the only one I'll eat. Hoe you enjoyed your day!

  9. Words cannot express how much I love pecan pie. I didn't feel like making one, and I just ended up not buying one. So maybe Christmas....I did sort of eat a piece of apple pie. (And took the left overs because my aunt also had an apple ruhbarb pie she was keeping). I eat some of the filling, but I km oath just like to eat the
