After like 2 years, I finally finished The Office

I used to be a die-hard fan and then I kinda started losing interest around the time Michael left.  Some of it has to do with the fact that Scott hates The Office so there was never anyone around to keep me watching.  It's okay though…Scott watches The Killing and I cannot understand why.  It puts me to sleep and gives me a migraine at the same time.  And I don't even get migraines.

Also, I couldn't deal with Robert California and Nellie.  I mean, she literally makes my skin crawl.

However, I finished it on Netflix in the last week or so because, let's face it, you can only watch Gossip Girl over and over again so many times.

My thoughts:

Originally, no one rooted for Jam (Jim+Pam) more than me.  And, quite coincidentally, they had their wedding episode right around the time Scott and I got married.  So I always liked them.  They did get kinda boring, but I admit that I was happy with the way it wrapped up.

Nelly wasn't as bad in the last season as she was when they first introduced her.

Angela and Dwight ended up together.  The way it should be.

And Michael came back.  They needed that to get a sense of closure on the series.

I felt very reminiscent as I was watching it and now I feel like that chapter is finally over.  The chapter that led from college to marriage to Alaska.  Because I watched it that whole time!

Also, shameless plug.

Thoughts on The Office?  I think it's either love it or hate it, don't you?

  1. Um, whoa, you met all of them! That's so cool! I only started watching The Office in early 2013...so, like, just in time for the end of it all. It definitely wasn't as addicting post-Michael but I thought the entire ending episode provided great closure--I did love that show, even if I was really, really late to the game.

  2. When did you meet all of them? I loved the Office, I should go back and watch it all - I'm guessing Netflix starts from the beginning?

  4. I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU HAVE PHOTOS WITH THEM! Sorry, I had to shout.

I love The Office. Nelly annoyed me a lot but I stuck with it throughout.

I think they did the Jim & Pam story really well.

  5. THE OFFICE FOR LIFE. I will never get sick of that show. We're currently re-watching the entire show from beginning to end...for like the 5th time at least. Nellie was annoying as heck at first, I actually REALLY hated her character...but she got better, and I'm glad they toned her down a bit. By the end, I actually liked her. I don't think I've ever seen a series finale I liked more, either...they just wrapped it all up so well.

For the most part, at least...I'm still a bit bitter about how Andy ended up.

  6. So I really don't read blogs anymore, but I've been stalking yours still because I miss you as a blog friend. Is that weird? lol. I had all the same feelings as you re: jam, Dwight and Angela, hating it after Michael left, etc. it did tie up nicely at the end though. I missed most of the last season, but did watch the finale. Super jealous you met so many people from the show. So cool! Hope school is goes well for you this year! Sending you some virtual hugs :)

  9. How amazing that you got to meet them! I watched the first two seasons then got too busy, blasphemy I know.

Found you from Jamie's blog, we have the same ideas regarding 'popular' books!

    Have a great day!

  10. I am actually pretty sure that I've never seen an episode from beginning to end. (Which is weird because I love Steve Carell.)

  11. I've tried to watch it a few times and can never do it. The set bores me (apparently I need stimulating colors and cute outfits. ha). I keep telling myself someday someday, but nope. (Also, I know what you're thinking. I referenced The Office in a scene in my book. I only KNOW of that scene because J did that same thing to me on formal weekend senior year).
