Job Interview Outfit.

Last week, I had a job interview (I didn't tell anyone, so you're not out of the loop). I turned down a second interview because I didn't feel it was something I could commit to.

Skirt/shirt: BR outlet // Sweater: Loft outlet
(I'm working on a better set-up.  This camera angle is doing nothing for me.)

I swear I'm not crazy.  I want a job. This job was for the local school district (not teaching), but working well into the evening, as well as all day long.  It would've looked awesome on a resume...but the pay was not worth the hours (and responsibility) it required.  I have this new puppy...I have a husband who's not deployed...I have friends here (crazy, right?)...I want a job, but I want a job that is a good fit.  If I had to work until 7pm everyday (uh huh, that's right), I'd feel very resentful of the job, I think.  Substitute teaching, here I come.

Anyway, it was a good interview experience...I've still got the ability to interview somewhat well!  That's kind of relieving after 3 years at the same job.

Also, I got to wear my new Banana Republic Outlet skirt ($14!) and shirt ($12!).  It was nice to think about putting on professional clothes.  I knew that trip to the outlets in Branson would be worthwhile.

I think "Unreasonably excited for Banana Republic Outlet clearance possibilities" would easily fit into this 30 Signs You're Almost 30 list.  < Enjoy that.

  2. I agree that if it's not something that feels like the right fit, you'll resent it almost immediately. Super cute outfit! Trust me, I get excited about BR outlet deals too. It's crazy how they can end up so cheap through clearance sales. I never buy anything full price at the reg store or outlet, but just wait not-so-patientily for a good sale to come along. Ryan and i read that 30 list yesterday and sadly, fall into almost every category...Ryan only has a few weeks until he actually is 30, so I've been giving him an extra hard time about it.

  8. That is a cuuuuute outfit!

  9. Love the outfit!

I agree. You don't want a job that you'll resent. I think you'll prefer subbing. The best thing about subbing is that if you don't want to work, you don't have to, and if a class is terrible, you can turn down those jobs! lol

  10. The last time I had to work until 7pm or later was when I was a waitress. The only way I'd want to do that again is...if I were a waitress.

  11. Good for you for saying no to something you know you couldn't commit to. There is nothing wrong with that. And....I have those shoes your wearing, target??? :) Love them!!

  12. Great outfit! And good for you turning down the second interview - sometimes it is hard to realize what is best for you vs. what it seems like you "should" do. Hopefully you find something that is a good fit with better hours.

And the 30 signs your are almost 30... thank you for that.

  14. Such a pretty lady!!! Good choice on the second interview. I subbed for a year and didn't mind it too much, it was good money!

  16. Yes, you must have the right fit for any job. Hating where you are is not pleasant! LOVE the outfit, of course!

  17. See, pencil skirts are perfect for job interviews! You look very professional! I'm kind of terrified of interviewing for jobs in a short time. I've never interviewed for a job before....mostly I just got the job by default, 'cause I was there. For my all time favorite job thus far: grading papers for capstone course in college, all I did was email the professor and tell him that my English is awesome, and I got the job. That job convinced me that if I could mark up papers with red ink for the rest of my life, that would be an existence of nearly perfect bliss.

  18. Great outfit and I think you made the right decision. Working until 7pm every night is a drag and very exhausting.

  19. I would hire you if you took off those heels and gave me a footjob with those bright pink toes, then you can put the heels back on and I would cum on your feet while you wear the heels
