Let's compare...

First, Google Reader (they say) is really going away in a couple of weeks.  So, if you'd like to keep on following, make sure you hit on that Bloglovin' button to the left!
*Edit: Apparently GFC isn't going away.  But I secretly wish it would :)*

No makeup.  Skirt: Old Navy // Tank: Target // Watch: Fossil

...I'm just saying!

Which do you prefer?

1.  I think my hair is turning brown and I'm okay with that.
2.  I held onto bright blonde (or at least it looks that way in the sun there) for a very long time because I wasn't about to let Alaska change me.
3.  I've worn this skirt 4 times. Once last summer. Once at the beginning of the school year.  In that snow-rific picture you see above. And then to the ice cream place (it was lovely) last week.
4.  People who say it's too hot here and they'd "rather be cold than hot!" are crazy.  They've obviously never truly been cold if they're saying that.  I know that humidity/heat/impending sunburn can be uncomfortable, but being cold is not what you think it is.
5.  In unrelated news, I watched Forks Over Knives while I was cooking dinner Monday night.  It goes without saying that I didn't eat much.  Did you see it?  What'd you think?  I don't think I can look at dairy the same way anymore.  Milk, anyway.  I'm not giving up ice cream.

  1. I like both!! :-)

HOW hot is it actually in Missouri? When I go home to Kansas in the middle of summer, I've actually gotten SICK from the heat and humidity. Now THAT was embarrassing considering that I embraced Kansas for 25 years before moving to Minnesota haha!

    Happy Wednesday!

  2. Well, since I live in Florida... you KNOW I will pick the first outfit ;)

And your hair looks like it's getting highlights from the sun. Which is more natural looking and I like that! My hair (and my daughters hair) are the saaaaaaaaaaame way!!!

  3. I agree. Bone chilling cold is just a completely misunderstood thing. And I've never experienced the chills of alaska but I did attend school in the mountains where we did quite literally walk to school in the snow up hill both ways :-).

Also, GFC will still operate. It's just google reader that is going away. You'll still be able to read blogs you follow if you log into blogger or transfer your google reader feed to bloglovin' .

  5. Cute outfit - and because our lovely state is dead center of the US we never have seasons except for summer and winter. I'm hoping for a fall this year, we'll see!

  6. Honestly, both versions of the outfit are adorable! To me, it's like the summer/winter version of an outfit....like a tutorial for how to wear one piece all year. BUT for you, I see how the first is preferable because it's Missouri, not Alaska! :)

  7. I love that skirt! As much as I hate the heat/humidity I would never choose being cold over being hot. NO way.

  9. Forks Over Knives is why I went full on (well, mostly) vegan instead of just part-time vegetarian. ;)

  10. super cute outfit! I like the Alaska outfit more mostly because of the boots. I'm a total sucker for boots haha.

  11. I love that first outfit! I'd even wear it!

Forks over Knives is a good documentary. We really limit dairy in the house... I would only drink organic, free-range, non-pasteurized milk... but we can't find that here, so I go without. Except I do have ice cream from time to time. That's not real dairy, right?

  12. I think you look cute in both outfits! But I definitely prefer the heat over the cold! Califonia has finally gotten its act together with consistent 75-85 degree days, so I'm happy.
I've seen Forks over Knives too! I was vegan for about 6 months after that...but then I really wanted froyo!

  13. I am with you on the heat versus the cold, which why I have a grand plan of moving to Florida some day. It doesn't usually get cold there. I think I've fixed my blogger account, I sure hope so. In other news, I love TV about as much as you do but my shows are completely different: Pawn Stars, America's Got Talent, Biggest Loser. I know my taste is not sophisticated but at least I'm finding entertainment. Esther Norine Designs

  14. Oh man, I can't watch it. That or Food Nation. I am afraid of what I will have to change once I know...in other news, tell those who are saying it's too hot to come to Florida! They'll sing a different tune when they come back ;)

  17. I haven't seen Forks over Knives but we hardly eat any dairy. I've even grown to love soy ice cream. lol

Daniel says all the time he would rather be cold than hot. Umm no. Boy is insane. But, lets take a look at everywhere he has lived. California, Nevada, Georgia, Oklahoma and Hawaii. He has no idea what cold is.

  20. I would a million times rather be hot than cold. There's things you can do about being too hot. Turn on a fan, take a shower, etc. When it's insanely cold and your car gets stuck in a snowbank and you're frantically trying to shovel it out so that you're not late to clock in at school...yeah, I prefer to be hot. And I think the darker or more multi-toned hair looks good on you now!
