T.G.I.Spring.Break

Scott left for a hunting trip on Friday night.  I consoled myself with pink moscato and chocolate chips.

Saturday morning, I woke up with a sore throat.  Perfect beginning to a vacation from school, right?  Sure.

I went to 90 minutes of TurboKick.  Well, 60-ish.  My throat was really bugging me, so I left early.  Strength-training is something I can do anytime, but I cannot do cardio when I don't feel well.  Can you?
I think this picture shows my non-enthusiasm pretty well.

I also did some pretty extensive menu planning and thought about a trip to the grocery store...and then took a nap instead.  I'm pretty sure I slept most of Saturday, actually.

Scott has asked one of his friends to stay with us for the next few days.  This guy was staying in temporary lodging on base, as he just got to Alaska, but they kick you out after so many days, and won't let you back in until x number of days is up.  (The military is wonderful like that.)

Scott told him about my blog and now he expects food, a lot of food, all the time.

Luckily, I'm on spring break, so I'll take on the challenge and try some new stuff, as well as the tried and true recipes we love.

I finished Saturday off with the BEST ICE CREAM EVER.  That is not a compliment I give out lightly.

I slept in on Sunday, did my grocery shopping, and then some baking...all while re-watching this season of The Walking Dead.

I have a pretty ambitious two-a-day workout schedule set for the week.  I'll have to recap how that goes.  They're all fitness classes, of course.  I rarely work out well enough to break a sweat if left to my own devices.

That's why I don't run on treadmills.

I really (truly) hope your weekend was more exciting than mine :)

  6. These are the times we need to live closer...so when your husband goes out of town, we can drink moscato and watch tv shows.

    I digress.

I have watched that gif at least 20 times and I can't figure out how on earth she managed to throw herself off the back of the treadmill...

And no. I can't do cardio when I'm sick, either. There is no such thing as sweating out the sickness for me. It makes me worse. Every time.

  16. I'm still confused as to why everyone not in California is on spring break and we have a full month until break.
Weirdly enough, I workout the best when I'm not feeling well! It clears my head and I don't feel as sluggish and gross.
If you ever want to try something new, go to blogilates.com and do 4 of her videos with some cardio before. You will actually want to die. Except I'd turn down the volume, because this girl is so chipper that you'll start to hate her. I did lower body today and I couldn't bend over to pick up my backpack after.
    Hope you feel better!
