September 27, 2012

Uh, it's Thursday

For the love of all that is holy:  HowisSeptembernotoveryet?

I've had bus duty this month.  Which makes a month that is already dragging by into a month that will really never end.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's okay that I become legitimately annoyed when parents pierce the ears of their babies. It, to me, is unnecessary.  Also, people used to do that stuff to their babies back when I was a kid.  So I really just think, "It's 2012.  Did you think it was still 1991?  It's not."

It's okay that my crush on Hunter Hayes is borderline inappropriate.  He's 21.

It's okay, and kinda weird, that when the dermatologist told me I had another small cyst forming behind my ear, I got all excited thinking, "I get to miss another day of school! CanIbookanappointmentnow???"  He said to wait about 6 weeks.  Crap.  There goes my "doctor/Starbucks/Target" day I had planned (in my mind) for next week.

It's okay that this is the look I get on my face when I see someone wearing Danskos.

That "how-do-I-tell-this-person-their-shoes-are-ugly" look is courtesy of Bill Compton.  I legit almost pulled out my phone at both the post office and the grocery store the other day to document the mayhem happening on the feet of strangers.

It's okay that I have a new gym routine.
It's called "go to the gym 3 times a week, do an ab workout every day, and eat candy corn for dinner".  I'll let you know how it goes.

I wish I had more to say today.  I don't.  I don't feel as absolutely hateful toward the world as I did last week though.  Guess that's good. (For real, every person who crossed my path was a potential victim.  Those poor kids.)

OH.  Y'all might like this.  The assignment was about character.  There was a picture of a woman looking in a mirror and they had to answer these questions about the woman's character.

This is my new favorite student.

Yeah.  I gots favorites.

  1. so many things i love about this. that students comment! you new exercise plan - i want to copy. and that is how I spend many of my days off!

  2. omg i just SNORTED at that student's comment! so so so funny!!

  3. I, too, snorted like the person above me.

confession: Danskos are a big deal here in nw washington....I have 3 pairs I wear on a regular basis. They are just so comfy!

I'm glad your week is going better :)

  4. I've never seen Danskos before your blog; I don't really have any feelings towards them, but I probably wouldn't wear them myself. I love your new workout routine, mine is called "think about going to the gym and then sleep instead," I don't really have high hopes for it. Your student is hilarious, h/she would be my fave too!

  5. I feel the same way about people piercing their babies' ears. Plus, I remember getting mine done when I was 11, I went with my mom on a girl-date and it was so much fun. I wouldn't want to miss that w/ my daughter.

I LOVE your student's answers to those questions..."run around and act all prittey"...classic.

  6. Haha love the students comment! And those are the exact things I look forward to do on a "day off". Ew those shoes are bad! I missed your post about them before and was like what the heck are those?! I love candy corn too and that about sums up my work out routine at the moment. I have no motivation to be "fit" right now...but it's ok!! :) Have a good day!

  7. Your student is so funny. And I agree about the ear piercing thing. My sister asked if I was going to pierce my baby's ears, and I said a big fat NO.

  9. I love your new gym routine.

And that would be my new favorite student, too! lol Loved it!

I also agree about the baby ear piercing thing. It DOES seem so 1990s. We're in the 21st century, people!!

  10. Oh how pale am I, hahaha love it.

I also totally dig your workout.

  11. 1. baby piercings are weird.
    2. I've taken photos here of a lady I saw in Walmart. She had on a full length fur coat (no one will ever EVER need a fur coat in Louisiana) with house shoes on. I was baffled...and totally rude as I made sure to catch her offense on camera.

  12. LOL, I had favorites too. And yes, baby pierced thanks. September better be over soon...but Oct 1 it's gonna be 100 here. SO, really no different.

  13. So I was walking around the NEX and saw Danskos and thought, "Man, if I had Kristin's #, I'd totally send her a picture message saying, 'They have your size.'"

  14. I do not like it when people pierce their baby's ears either. I got mine pierced when I was in 1st grade, and I think that age was just about right for me. I was old enough to know that I wanted to get my ears pierced for myself, and I could pick out the earrings I wanted, too, so it was fun! I just don't get forcing that type of decision onto an infant. Plus, a baby's not going to understand why their ears are sore and in pain, and all for what, so your baby can "look cute"? Seriously?

I had never heard of Hunter Hayes. I don't think your crush is inappropriate, but I understand what you mean. I feel guilty for liking Richard Madden (Robb Stark), and he's only a few months younger than I am. That's a BEAUTIFUL song, too! :)

Sometimes I think about scheduling routine blood work just so I can get a day off haha. :)

You like Oreos and Candy Corn. Have you seen the new Candy Corn Oreos? I have a morbid interest in trying them, and I think I might thoroughly enjoy them! :)

Finding gems like that student response is the only thing I look forward to about grading. Otherwise, grading makes me very unhappy. I like grading writing, though! :)

Comments make my day!
