Growing up, my forehead was my insecurity. Oh, and my stomach. My toes. My skin.
I digress.
But my forehead, which I lovingly call a five-head, was my major gripe.
(Get it? "Fore/four-head"? "Five-head"? I picked that up from my past obsession with America's Next Top Model.)
I had bangs from ages 9-19 for this very reason. They hid it a bit.
I never really admitted this issue to anyone and eventually got over it. I did the side-swept bangs for awhile and then I realized that I did not, in fact, look like a gremlin without bangs.
Where was this realization when I was 14??
I told my husband about this problem of mine back when we were engaged, so he started calling it a "seven-head". Which, of course, was just awesome.
Whatever. He'd already given me the ring. Ain't no goin' back now.
So, I think I love this darn headband from Alaska Chicks as much as I do because it creates the illusion of a normal-sized forehead.
You know what else my husband makes fun of? I barely have any bottom eyelashes. I don't know why this is. Bad genes, I s'pose.
(And, for the record, if you can't make fun of yourself, who can you make fun of?)

husbands have no idea how to compliment. : ) I think it is so cute! and I LOVE your pants!
ReplyDeleteThat headband is adorable and I love the pants! Also, I've never looked at a photo you've posted and thought "my, what a large forehead" so idk what you're talking about! My husband jokes about things I'm insecure about too. Normally I find it funny but if I'm particularly emotional that day I cry and then he feels terrible.
ReplyDeleteThat's cute! I just won a headband that is similar in a blog giveaway. Yay!
ReplyDeletelove those aerie pants on you! Have a happy Wednesday and be sure to enter to win a custom made shot glass!
ReplyDeleteI don't like my forehead either...note: the side-swept bangs! I have somehow overcome that insecurity as well and will occasionally rock the sock bun and pull everything back. I think it takes time.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're so funny. I love that you can make fun of yourself. Honestly, dont think I could be friends with someone who can laugh at themselves. My forehead's ok, it's all the other parts of me that Im self conscious. Especially my feet.
ReplyDeleteI never thought you had a large forehead either...but everyone sees themselves differently!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, I hated my stomach, and this mole I have on my left arm...which now seems small and silly, but I used to refuse to wear short sleeves, I hated it so much.
since I am new and have not seen a picture sans hat, I will hold my opinion on the fivehead, though I doubt it looks like you think it does, things never do. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love those boots!
Lol you're hilarious!! But seriously - you're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIs that shirt from Old Navy new?? I LOVE it! Lately I've really been into horizontal stripes.
Hope you're having a great day!
That headband is adorable. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! I have a fivehead too. Plus a ginormous head on top of that. In college there were a couple of my sorority sisters I would not stand next to in pictures because I looked like an alien with my giant bubble head and massive forehead. lol The headband is adorable!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit!! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally used to have the same problem with my forehead. I had bangs until second semester of my freshman year of college (almost 19). Then I ended up growing them out. This was more because I didn't have money than that I was ready to get over it. But as they were growing out, I realized I looked better without them! Ahhh....the joys of growing up. :)
You make me laugh. I think that my forehead was the one thing I didn't obsess about as a teen.
ReplyDeleteNo one has cute toes, no one!
ReplyDeleteI love those cute headbands. I don't wear them, because my head is weird. Headbands just pop off, no matter what I do. I'm a conehead.
