Whatever.
At least I can wear those fabulous fall fashions all year long, right?
(P.S. I was wondering if there was a southern blogger who might like to participate in an exchange of sorts. As in, you live in Alaska and I go live in Texas. Just an idea...)
Back-to-school shopping. I associate fall with school shopping and new beginnings.
I also get quite the kick out of baking yummy fall treats.
And football games.
Do you follow a football team?
Um. Yes. The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have no patience for the Eagles, the Seahawks, or the Ravens. Steelers fans never like the Eagles or the Ravens, and the Seahawks just annoy me because they're like the west coast version of the Eagles. Yuck.
What is something fun about fall in your area?
If I were in PA, I'd say the cooler temperatures, wearing fall clothes, going to football games, the golden-yellow glow that everything outside seems to have, etc.In Alaska? Eh.
Favorite fall outfit staples?
Boots.
Scarves.
What are you most looking forward to this fall season?
I love it when school starts. I always feel a little mournful for summer, but there's not much summer to mourn in Alaska.
What I'm truly looking forward to this upcoming season is the end of this deployment.
Favorite fall holiday? Traditions?
I like the anticipation of Halloween and Thanksgiving more than I prefer the actual holidays. Perhaps because my mother always made meatloaf for dinner on Halloween (gag). Or because they allowed me to fall down the basement stairs at 10 months old on my first Thanksgiving.
Scott and I haven't really had a chance to establish traditions for holidays (sad, I know), and we're too far away from family to participate in usual traditions.
I'll stop playing my sad little violin now.
OH! There IS something. Every fall there is a craft fair on the base. And for the last 3 years, I've made Scott take me there to buy crafty stuff (pre-made, obviously, since I don't "craft").
He really loves "craft fair" day.
Funny stuffs.
Because I really like Jason Bateman and I really don't like, well, you know...
Because no matter what Michael Phelps does now, he'll never be the d-bag that Ryan Lochte is...
Because, when a storyline isn't logical to a Pokeman character, something's wrong.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the whole *Jacob & a demon baby as soul mates* was hokey. I'm not a Twilight fan. I didn't read the books. I had no intention of watching the movies until a friend came up from Texas and INSISTED I had to watch them.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can say about that is that it's six hours I will never get back again!
Haha. Is this exchange in living only for the fall or is it permanent? Sometimes I think that I would enjoy snow.
ReplyDeleteLove all those outfits! Fall clothes are great.
ReplyDeleteAs for the exchange, I'll have to pass. Sorry! I do live in southeast Texas where right now we are experiencing a coldish day as it's only 81 degrees, but it is only 9 in the morning and it's overcast. Generally, I can't walk from the car to the house without sweating. But I cannot stand being cold - makes me miserable. But I would like to visit Alaska at some point - would love to see the Northern Lights!
Also, YAY Michael Phelps!
YES! I WILL TOTALLY TRADE WITH YOU! I am a WINTER person!! So..when do we switch...and do you think our men would notice? LOL!
ReplyDeleteFound you thru the Sunday Social! Your Newest Follower...YAY!

PS...I live north of Houston! :o)
ReplyDeleteOk, so Alaska weather sounds like it sucks. However, right now I'm so over the 120* weather and 180% humidity (exaggerating, but feels like it lol) here in Georgia that I would gladly swap with you. But then again, I don't like the cold, so you are more than welcome to come for an extended stay here! :) When the deployment is over, do you get to go back to PA or are you staying there?
ReplyDeleteThat Micael Phelps / Ryan Lochte photo is hilarious!
LMAO at the KStew photos... literally. I laughed my ass off. I don't have one anymore...
ReplyDeleteBAHAHA
I love fall and here in the PacificNW it's beautiful and lasts longer than in Alaska! I especially love the aromas of fall baking--gingerbread, apples, pumpkin and cranberry anything!
ReplyDeleteNever got caught up with Twilight and after seeing your post, I'm glad I didn't. Michael Phelps...well, just another jock too big for his britches!
