Sunday Social 8/12 and funny stuffs

Sunday Social
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza.  I could eat pizza everyday.  Homemade, from a restaurant, from the freezer aisle.  However, I could also eat breakfast food for every meal.  If we're at a restaurant that serves breakfast all day, chances are I'm ordering breakfast.

What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
I feel like all I do is talk about my guilty pleasures when it comes to food.  (This food blogging thing is taking me down, one recipe at a time.)
Obviously ice cream.  When I want to push it over the top, I put a warm brownie or cookie on top of that ice cream.  I've also been known to eat the better part of a bag of chips (the kind depends on my mood) in one sitting.
(Did you know that Doritos taste really good if you dip them in ice cream? just fyi..)

What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
I don't take chances with food.  Food is too important for that. (Though caribou is pretty good if you get the chance.  In the deer family, but MUCH better than venison could ever hope to be.)
However.  I will never forget the moment when, we had been dating for 2 weeks and, Scott had sushi (from Panda Express, so not even like good sushi).
We were sitting on the Penn State campus and he said, "Do you want to try it?"
I had never had sushi before.  While I was trying to decide, he stuffed the piece of sushi into my mouth.  I tried to say, "I just wanted a bite" and he said, "You don't bite sushi, you just eat it."
Now, I love sushi.
Or rather, I love California rolls.  Nothing with salmon.  Blech.

What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Salmon-this is a conflict with my living in Alaska
Meatloaf-this ignites my gag reflex like nothing else
Canned tuna-I can eat mahi mahi
Mayonnaise- I have to hold my breath if I'm scooping some out to use in a dip.  I can eat it in dips if it's disguised with sour cream and spices.
Beets-I will gag if I even smell the juice
Hard-boiled eggs/pickled eggs- eewwww

What meal reminds you of your childhood?
The smell of a turkey roasting.  Smells like Christmas morning.
Also the smell of grilling.  Even something as simple as hot dogs brings back memories of cookouts and bonfires.
I realize the question asks, "what meal?", not "what smell?".
I didn't enjoy a lot of real food growing up.  I was the kid sitting at the table for 2 hours because she refused to eat meatloaf.
These are some desserts of my childhood though:
Chocolate PB No-Bake cookies, Pumpkin cookies, and Chocolate Chip cookies.

Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
Are you kidding me?!  I've got a whole index!
I couldn't pick a favorite if I wanted to, but the most popular ones are on the left sidebar.

funny stuffs.

I like you, Abe.

In other news, I saw a FB photo of a relative making a "duck face".  Whhhhhhyyyyyyy?  I didn't believe the duck face was real until I saw it on my own personal FB newsfeed.  By my own flesh and blood.  Ugh.
