It's Okay...that it's the last full week of school!

It's a lovely, sunny Thursday.

As you can tell from the title, it's the last real week of school, so that is all that's prevented me from taking a sick day.
Mostly, I just want to curl up into a ball.  I haven't eaten food that's not ice cream, scrambled eggs, or cereal since Saturday.  Or marshmallows.  I think I had some marshmallows.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's okay...

...that I took my Little House on the Prairie collection to school to share (that's right, it has a special place on my living room bookshelf).  I got all panicky when they kids started touching the books and shoving them in their desks.  So I ordered myself a new set.  Which leads to the fact..

...that I currently owe the Scholastic book order more money than we owe on our credit cards (that either speaks really well for our credit card debt or really poorly for my book order self-control).  Did you know that you can just order and order from the Scholastic website and send the money later?  And all because I'm gainfully employed by a school??  Fools.  Last year, I believe I owed them at $181 at one point.

...that I wrote a review of Fifty Shades of Grey yesterday. I do respect the opinion of everyone who likes the books.  As long as they have a better reason than "He is SO HOTT!".  "He" is a character in a book that you can't see.

...that I'm giving away an autographed copy of The Snow Child.

...that after our field trip 2 weeks ago, one-third of my class came down with the flu (Coincidence, Seward??  I think not.)  Guess who had it over the weekend??  That's right.  The teacher.  It has been dragging on all week, making the last week of school kinda miserable.

...It's also not okay that we had an earthquake yesterday that made me lose my balance.  It felt and sounded like a huge gush of wind.  Only, I wasn't outside.  I was curling my hair.  Odd.  But it is okay to wonder why everyone feels the need to throw "Earthquake!" up on Facebook.  That's kinda like this..

  2. Scholastic is dangerous. I recently ordered the Hunger Games books from Jordan's 1st grade teacher. Hopefully she'll realize they're for me. Not my 7 year old. :)

    Feel better soon!

  3. Haha, I love that you ordered another set! I think it's so funny when people post the obvious on Facebook.
