Strawberry Slush

1.  If I would've thought to add juice to frozen drinks a year ago, my lime budget would not have shot through the roof.

2.  The *only* reasons this does not have tequila in it is because it was Saturday afternoon, I was taking Tylenol for a sore throat, and I already have a Strawberry and a Peach Margarita recipe in my repertoire.

3.  I was driving by the liquor store and wishing I liked wine when this drink popped into my head.

Annnnndddd...Happy Friday!

"You lookin' mighty good, slush.  Especially after a week of state testing.."
Strawberry Slush
makes 1 slush

1 heaping cup frozen strawberries (If you have fresh strawberries, you might want to toss them in the freezer so you don't have to dilute your drink with ice.)
3/4 cup juice (I used Tropicana Simply Raspberry Lemonade.)
1 T. lime juice
1 t. sugar (if needed)
1 shot Triple Sec orange liqueur
1 shot rum (dark, white, coconut...whatever you feel like)

Mix it all up in the blender!  Depending on the kind of juice you use, you may not need the sugar.

Edit:  A week later, I made it again with my friend Jose Cuervo.  Did you really expect any less from me?

  1. I don't like wine either. I wish I did, but it's just not good in my opinion. This sounds yummy!

  2. Okay, now I need to buy tequila. I love wine, but I have found that hard alcohol doesn't give me a headache. Slushes for me!!
