1. This isn't a favorite so much as it is a recommendation: don't bother with The Bachelorette. I tried. I gave it two weeks. It's awful. Like so many things that Covid has ruined (public school, the credibility of doctors, etc), the Bachelor franchise isn't recovering. It seems like the people on it have just lived these bubble lives centered around social media, and this includes the podcast hosts who discuss the show. It's dumb. I honestly feel bad for anyone between the ages of 17-25 right now. They got a significant chunk of their development ripped away from them, and that's all I can think about when I watch this show.
2. I bought something completely unnecessary but totally improves my quality of day-to-day life: a plug-in air purifier. I initially tried to use a podcast's code to get a deal on it. Then I realized I probably didn't need three of them. So I just used a military discount and got one. I really love it, not going to lie. I've actually been sick with a sinus thing for a week and a half now so my sense of smell isn't appreciating it fully yet, but I'm starting to notice a difference. I think it's worth the splurge if you live in a humid environment or if you have pets.
3. Wells has been at vacation bible school all week and it's been the best thing for him. While it means I have to get up early to take him there, it's been worth it. Also, it further cements the idea that, yes, he does need to go to preschool this fall.
4. My Aimee Kestenberg backpack arrived and I think I'm in love with it. I DO wish it had a cross-body option, but my peasant status means I didn't get the twice as expensive one from the Nordstrom sale. I just cannot get on board with diaper bag life, no matter how I try. I was bad at it with Wells and I'm bad at it now. The diaper bag is usually something I keep in the car with extra necessities and also pack for baby on trips.
5.
The dog paw on the baby’s bouncy seat (or whatever they call it now) is the cutest! You found the best memes. I like the fruit vendor one especially! That’s funny that Wells is obsessed with twins. It is crazy! Mine looked so identical until high school.
ReplyDeleteMy nieces aren't identical and strangers argue it. Sure they have their moments but once you k ow them you know how to tell apart
ReplyDeleteThat last meme resonates with me. I drink bottled water days after I've opened it. Man, that stinks about The Bachelorette. I watched the first episode but haven't seen any after yet (may not now!) I have to say, from watching the first episode, that the dating pool variety is not that great.
