1. Did anyone else just have a really not-good week? It wasn't a great one. I don't even mean that in a first-world-problem way. I feel like it was disappointments and bad news all around and then if you add in the current news cycle and political climate...ugh.
2. Pumpkin Banana Bread
I pulled out banana bread ingredients and realized I didn't have a lot of applesauce to add so I got some pumpkin out of the fridge. Pumpkin can take the place of the butter or oil in any recipe, just like applesauce. You do have to expect a texture change, depending on how much you use. My banana bread recipe uses Crisco, so I just do 1/4 fat, 3/4 applesauce, normally. This time I replaced it with pumpkin and it was great.
If you need a weekend binge and haven't watched this yet, please do. Especially if you aren't into Christmas movies (*raises hand slowly*). It's solid. Great acting. Good storyline. Kept us glued to the TV screen for a week. (There is very little weekend TV bingeing once you have a toddler...we watched at night, over a week.)
4. Do your own research. I let it all hang loose yesterday when I aired political thoughts. My goal was just to state the facts and I think I did that. It may not be the last post you see around here :)
I do want to clarify: I didn't have a strong interest in politics until, 2.5 years ago, I found myself unemployed, bored, and very pregnant. I spent hours deep-diving articles, podcasts, and youtube. I learned a lot. I have put in a lot of time over the last few years on this (rather draining) "hobby".
If you are feeling like you're caught between a rock and a hard place, I implore you to do your own research. Please don't just re-post and go along with whatever is popular.
I have lots of favorite follows that I could recommend, but this really stuck out to me last week. You'll have to click to enlarge the text..I can't make it bigger here, but maybe I'll post on my stories too.
If you are celebrating Kamala Harris' potential VP position, consider the following:
I'm not asking you to take whatever I have to say as gospel. Just research what you care about.
That's all for today. Make banana bread, watch The Queen's Gambit, and do some political research this weekend :)
This week was flat out awful. Yesterday was more redeemable, but the rest of the week was total garbage and I am ready for it to end.
ReplyDeleteI’m working a 40+ hour week so I’m exhausted! Mmmm your bread looks delightful!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a week...try to relax this weekend!
