2 December books and 2020 Reading Goals.

I read two books in December, bringing my book total for the year to 47. I will totally take that.
I am an all-or-nothing kinda reader during this season of life. If I find a book I like, I devour it. If I don't like it, I take it back to the library ASAP. Someone else might be waiting for it.

I wish I could find more middle ground, but this first book is a good example of my reading personality: I read the first 5 or 6 chapters slowly, over a few days and it didn't completely pull me in. Then, it got so compelling that I finished it in one morning. I couldn't put it down.

And then my only non-fiction read of 2019:

He committed suicide pre-trial. He'd warned them he would and they didn't watch him closely.

I cannot say enough good things about this book if you like true crime. I haven't read a true crime book that I can recall in recent years. I just generally don't feel myself drawn to the genre, even if I do watch the Netflix documentaries that are always in this realm.

I think profilers and detectives will be studying this case for years. It's Dexter-level, if Dexter had been truly evil.

I did set a reading goal on Goodreads for the first time in a couple of years. I picked 48 because it's one more than what I read in 2019. I would say "4 books a month" but some months I read no books and some months I read 12 books. Let's hope it all evens out.

Did you set a 2020 reading goal?
