...that I've been watching.
A lot of people read over winter breaks...I use my time to bake cookies and watch TV.
1. Gilmore Girls Revival. I KNOW, RIGHT? I said I don't like the show and have never watched more than an episode or two but I listened to a review of this "revival" on a podcast and they talked about what a horrid little brat Rory was and how she was 32 years old and acting like she was 22 (such a millenial, right?) and then I had to watch. So I did. I had no context and I think it's better that way. I didn't need 7 years of backstory to catch what was going on. 'Twas not that complicated.
2. Jane the Virgin. All caught up.
3. We tried OA on Netflix. I liked the first two episodes a lot and then it got weird(er). I think Scott just let it play while he took a nap and I eventually started doing something else. I wasn't impressed.
4. And because I can't stop with the Hallmark Christmas movies, I also moved onto When Calls the Heart on Netflix. Scott watched a couple of episodes with me.
5. I caught up on season 7 of Shameless. The fact that I've been alternating between When Calls the Heart and Shameless is pretty odd, right?
6. I started watching Veep. I'd seen episodes here and there over the years, but I started from the beginning. I'll probably just watch the two free seasons on Amazon Prime and then call it good.
What have you been watching lately???
Be back Monday with (some kind of) a Christmasy round-up...Have a merry weekend!
I love Shameless.
ReplyDeleteI love the corny of Jane the Virgin... her dad is the BEST!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about Leah Remini's show on Scientology. So crazy.
I've been watching some of the documentaries that I've had on my to watch list for ages. Most recently I watched The Drop Box, which I thought was pretty interesting, but that might be because of my experience working with folks with disabilities. I've also been re-watching Friends and I keep meaning to check out Gracie & Frankie.
ReplyDeleteI also couldn't get into The OA! It reminded me too much of Stranger Things, which I also didn't like. If you want a good scifi Netflix to binge, "3%" is like a much more violent Hunger Games (but not as scary as Black Mirror) and "Glitch" is like a zombie-but-not-zombie show that has #AllTheFeels. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteVeep is one of my husband's fav shows but I just can't get over Julia LD swearing like that! I mean, ELAINE has better manners, right?! LOL
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
I can't do Gilmore Girls either. I started watching the first episode of the revival, also, after I read some reviews, and couldn't stand it. I don't know what it is about all those characters but I don't like a single one of them.
ReplyDeleteWe tried The OA too and it was just...bizarre. When a show is THAT bizarre in the first two episodes, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the series.
I haven't found anything good to watch lately, and for some reason The Man in the High Castle has gotten a little slow and boring, so I've just been rewatching House while I multitask in the evenings.
I just finished season 6 of Shameless. We don't have Showtime so I can't watch season 7! :(
ReplyDeleteI just started watching Damages on Netflix and it's so good!
ReplyDeleteI'm on season 6 of Shameless and i love it!
ReplyDeleteI have When Calls the Heart on my Netflix list. I want to get to it eventually. I've heard it's good!
ReplyDeleteI've never watched a full season of Shameless, but I really should because I've watched random parts on youtube and I really do love it.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
Lauren
