I contradicted myself by making a vlog

Funny, right?  Well, about 6 hours after I mentioned that I don't watch vlogs simply because they're inconvenient, I came across something on Facebook that made me want to make a vlog because some things are easier to explain.

This one is about not wearing make-up, how Rodan+Fields allowed me to not wear make-up, and why it's better to invest in clearing your skin instead of covering it up.

Vlogs do have a place: when you are teaching something, explaining something in depth, or making a tutorial.  All good reasons to vlog.  I don't know if this was a good reason to vlog, but oh well.  I hadn't made use of iMovie since college so it was a good learning experience.

Of note: You can tell I'm a teacher because I tend to explain things in a very explicit way. Also, when I watch myself on camera, I can tell I have an elementary teacher's voice. What can you do, I guess...

If you don't watch, I won't be offended :)

  3. I loved this! And I love that you didn't let the fact that you were contradicting yourself stop you from making this video. I like makeup which is why I don't mind investing in it, but I definitely don't feel like I HAVE to wear makeup to leave the house. And I wear varying degrees of it depending on where I'm going/what I'm doing. BUT! I think it's hugely important to have good skin and can't imagine putting on so much makeup that I feel suffocated just to leave the house!

  5. I love that you made a contradictory vlog, and I was actually able to watch this one because Scott is asleep upstairs! Haha! Nice to hear your voice again! It's been a long time since we got to meet up!

  7. haha i love that you did this! i even watched it, so there you go! i think you definitely sound like a teacher lol, my husband is the same. anyway, i totally agree about taking care of / clearing up your skin rather than piling on the makeup. i don't have bad skin (anymore!) so when i wear makeup it's just to look pretty or whatever, but years ago when my skin was bad i just kept layering it on (badly, but that's a different story) and it would never get better. i finally got over it and just let my skin breathe and recover and rarely wear a 'full face' anymore (unless i'm going out or whatever). great vlog girl!
