Stuff and Things 5/13

+Let's start with the fact that I've been sick all week. Either allergies taken up a notch or a cold. I don't know. Wells has it too. Most kids in my class are coughing and sneezing and nose-blowing all day long.

+Which means I eat poorly and don't exercise and don't sleep and am at my least productive.

+But I brought a donut home for Wells the other day. They were offered at school and I don't like donuts but people think you're weird if you turn down donuts (I think I made some enemies this year by turning down pie...also, don't like pie), so I took one and then put it in a baggie and took it home.

+I'm trying to make phone calls left and right to deal with the whole "moving" thing. We've got 3 more weeks here. I have 394857 more phone calls to make.

+I had a wishlist for Mother's Day but, truthfully, the best gift was being able to walk through our new house, pick out all the things I wanted changed, and watch Scott make a list of what he needed to get. First thing: new outdoor lights. We need 5. We settled on these two to start.

+Things on my short list for "wish": This bag and this vacuum

+I'm going to have a full post on what we plan on doing to our new house, concerning remodeling.

+It's not a complete gut job like our Colorado house was back in 2014. We don't have to rip up the carpet or take apart the kitchen or reconfigure things. It's 100% livable. We just bought below our price range so we can update whatever we want. I don't know if I could handle a complete gut job again. I didn't handle it well back then.

+Wells made this for Mother's Day at daycare, which is both the ugliest and the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

It's made of some sort of hardened dough so I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.

+Still better than the project we did last week at school: kids had to write in what they would buy if they could buy their mom anything. I hadn't even finished reading them the prompt when a kid yelled out how do you spell wine? And you can tell it's PCS season because another kid said he'd buy his mom a boxcutter.

  1. Hahaha I love that the kid thought of wine. I did a craft project with Zoe a few years ago with hard dough and I dont even know where it is. I didn't think it through that there is nothing to do with it.

  2. Oh no... is it allergies? Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
LOL at the donut issue - people looking at your funny if you dont take one.
AHHH - look at that dough art. Made with love.

  3. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I rarely eat donuts either. I’m not much into sweets and can usually pass them up. Any other food, however, is fair game!
