The weekend of manual labor.

My whole body (especially my fingers) hurts after a weekend of carrying, raking, shoveling, and piling.

We spread mulch, paid for a trailer full of stone, shoveled the stone, and then pick up all the trimmed branches and trees that Scott has chopped down this winter (in the dark..see last picture).

Wait, is winter the right word?
I put away all of my winter decorations this weekend because I do believe winter is over and we've hit 60 degrees (a most uncomfortable temperature because you never know what to wear) for the next 2 months. After that, it'll be 95 each day. That was a short winter indeed.

I'm saying all of this now in hopes of jinxing myself and forcing a snowstorm or two out of the universe.
A snowstorm or two would certainly be appreciated.

  1. Shoveling and raking rock is exhausting!! We used to help out my parents when they flipped houses and omg it was such a workout and every part of your body aches.

  2. Sounds like a hard job but I bet afterwards, you felt really accomplished. That's the thing with manual labor. It's pretty rewarding.

  4. Snow is not appreciated here in March, so I'm hoping against that.

Yard work is a huge workout!

  5. Ahh oh my gosh you definitely got your workout in this weekend! My back hurts just looking at that load of gravel! lol! And, I so agree, 60 is such a weird temperature. It's too warm for jackets but really not warm enough to be without. And, that's the temperature in Washington like 90% of the time haha!
