Seasonal Stuff (S&T 2/4)

Do you have a favorite season? I know this sounds like a 4th grade writing prompt (it is), but I've given a lot of thought lately to what kind of person I am when it comes to seasons. In Pennsylvania, we had 4 seasons. That was life and it was all I knew and that was that. No matter how hot it was in the summer or how cold it was in the winter, the season eventually turned.

Alaska was a whole different ball game and I learned to appreciate the few warm days of summer and also how to just adapt and deal with winter. Usually by wearing layer upon layer and staying indoors.

My favorite month was always September (fall begins, school starts, etc), but in Missouri and now in Colorado, September is still so hot that it's just like summer.  I prefer October these days as it's really the beginning of fall in these parts.

When we have randomly warm 60 degree days in January here in Colorado, I hate it. I prefer colder weather in the winter. In Colorado Springs it gets really hot in the summer. I like being warm. I don't like being hot. I like it when weather is more or less predictable so I don't have to do any guesswork.

Of course, a random 60 degree day the first week of February would be better than being snowed in (the current situation).

So the reason you've never seen this fabulous mini-dress from Stitchfix is because I tend to wear it on days when the weather is less than desirable for picture taking. I bought it TWO years ago and I wear it regularly because with leggings and a cardigan, there is no easier outfit.
The shadows are weird here. I tried to adjust the picture. Didn't work.
Also, there is a box of hair dye in my future.

Also! I'm selling my Clarisonic.  I have a like-new Clarisonic Mia 2 with a brand-new brush head for $80. I only used it for 2 months, so it really is like new. The brush head, just so we're clear, is brand new :) And the price tag says $32 because it was originally a two-pack.
Anyway....I like it, but I don't use it and hate to see it going to waste. Let me know if you're interested!

  1. Spring has always been my favourite season. The flowers in bloom, the green of the grass and trees, the afternoon showers, Spring temps. I've got my reasons that I enjoy each season, but Spring has always been the fave.

  2. My favorite season is fall. I love the position of the sun, the warm colors, the foliage... Least favorite is winter.

  3. Summer is my favorite season. Hence my choice to live in the tropics. It's the hot season right now, and hasn't rained in a month, which means it's getting a little hot even for me...
Really like that dress! I love dresses that look great with leggings--such a comfortable way to look good.

  4. Fall is my favorite season. I love the leaves changing colors and the cooler temperatures, plus baseball postseason and the start of football season. Spring is probably second. The temperatures are still moderate, and I enjoy watching things start blooming and turning green.

Even though I complain about winter sometimes, I'm just glad I live somewhere that has four distinct seasons. That's something I didn't have when I lived in Texas, and I missed it.

  5. I love things about each season, but fall is my favorite.

I will say I like summers that are unseasonably cool but prefer winter to be cold - like, I need all the fleas and bugs and molds to DIE. Not just sleep for a few days.

  6. I am one of those people who loves heat - summer time, humidity, ninety-five degree days. I just eat them up with a spoon. Fall is pretty, spring is nice, and winter can just forever be eliminated from my life. Love the outfit! xo Amanda

  8. When we left Denver yesterday it was 3 degrees. When we arrived in STL it was 33 degrees. Needless to say I don't mind the cold but I'd rather have the snow with the cold than just cold and sunny.

BTW I miss the snow we left behind :(

  9. Easy and comfy outfit! It doesn't start to really cool off until just about Halloween! I wish we had some cooler temps, although swimming in the middle of October is fun :)

  10. I always say that fall (despite how much I LOVE having my summers off) is my favorite season. BUT lately, I'm starting to realize that I actually really love the changing of the seasons. I LOVE when summer turns into crisp fall, and fall turns into that first chill of winter (which I am over in about 4 seconds). I especially love the change from winter into the blooming of spring, and truthfully, the best part about the "change" between spring and summer is the last day of school.... haha

  11. I really like that dress, the pattern is so pretty. I love easy outfit dresses, and have realised that I own precisely 0 of them at the moment. So that probably needs working on. Personally I like the long days of summer with evenings you can spend sitting out, and especially being able to eat outside. It probably helps that it never really gets unpleasantly hot here in England...

  12. I like Colorado weather, but I'm from there, sooo... I do love a good spring. Once winter is over and life begins again. I also love fall, when the leaves change and the weather is just perfect. But I'll take beautiful, comfortable weather in the winter too!
