Stuff and things. 4/10

In a perfect world, I'd have real stuff to share today.  However, the world, as we know, isn't perfect.

In lieu of real stuff and things, here's some funny stuff and things.

Followed by a picture of my dog because that's just the way things work around here.

Sometimes when my students have trouble mastering something simple like pushing in a chair or folding a piece of paper in half, I just think, "Oh dear."
I saw this and thought of today's youth.

Speaking of kids…

This is one of the funniest books I've ever read.  I actually struggle when reading it aloud because I'll start laughing.  I'm convinced it was actually written for adults.

An excerpt:

"My Aunt Bunny is married to my Uncle Vern", he said. "Aunt Bunny has a lot of--"

Mr. Scary quick held up his hand.

"Yes Sheldon, we know. You've told us many interesting things about your Aunt Bunny, but right now we don't need to hear any more about your Aunt Bunny's--"

"Skull tattoos", said Sheldon.

"Please sit down", said Mr. Scary.

Okay, this is long but we laughed for quite awhile at some of these answers…
Specifically, #3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14…also #18.  That one is all me.

I saw a pair of adorable coral shorts in a boutique last week.  They were $24.  I just couldn't do it.

I hate it when I look like an idiot and it's the fault of an overzealous computer scanner.  The person walking over to help usually looks a little too smug as they punch in the code.
---------------------------------------------------------
And this snooty little thing is refusing to eat these days.  Flat-out will not eat his food.  He knows that we give him things like blueberries, green beans, and popcorn and he's holding out for the human food.  Talk about smug!

I put some Cheerios on top of his food the other day to entice him.  He picked the Cheerios off, ate them, and then trotted away.

  1. Angel doesn't let me touch anything when we're going through a self-checkout lane...apparently I'm prone to making the machine go crazy on us....
and I wouldn't pay $24 for shorts, either.

  2. I love that picture of Scout.

I laughed very hard at the self checkout. I almost exclusively self checkout and that is prevalent.

I don't get why shorts aren't $12. All of them.

  3. The only reason why I have "real" posts for the next few days is I can't take any jobs until my long term starts so I actually have time to write stuff. Otherwise unless its been scheduled its not happening for awhile.

  4. I saw you pin the laziest things post and J and I laughed so hard! I am SO WITH you on the price of shorts! For the longest time (up until about 2 years ago) I never ever wore shorts unless they were like cheerleading shorts and I was just lounging around the house. I've gotten over that--but since then I've realized how freaking expensive they can be! What the what! Also--Scout is a little stinker! Try wetting his dry food just a smidge and then microwaving it for a few. It'll seem like a "hot meal" and he might eat it.

  7. Shorts should absolutely not be the same price as pants!

I'm always that person at the self-checkout.

  8. Swimsuits should also not be the same price as Louboutins.

#11 on that lazy list reminds me of New Girl, where she's talking about how she had butter on her face so she wiped it off with a piece of bread and ate it, and basically "buttered her bread with her face." I love that show. Zooey Deschanel is my soulmate.
