A long list of accomplishments (not really)

For the weekend to-do list, I had signed up for a 5K on base and had a few errands planned.  Also, I had wanted to take Scout for a long walk and/or go to the dog park.

Didn't happen.

I always feel enormous guilt when I don't play with Scout enough.  That almost makes me as bad as our neighbors:  one collects dogs and has 6 chained up to doghouses year round.  Another ties theirs to the deck all day and we get to listen to him bark.

Well, maybe not quite as bad.  Most of you probably don't feel for Scout; he just lays on the couch when I won't play with him.

Anyway.

Friday night, I couldn't sleep.  I was cold.  Really really cold.  I piled on all the blankets.  I double-checked all the windows.  I had to get up once or twice to take Scout out and that was awful.  By morning, I was incredibly nauseated. A horrible headache.  Dizzy.  We had no ginger ale, water made it worse, and so I just slept.  Until about 1pm, on and off.  Scout was not a fan.  It was particularly beautiful out and we were missing it.

We (me and the dog) watched Friday Night Lights all day long.  We made a trip to Wal-Mart.  I wanted to give him a bath, but didn't have the energy.  I've been slacking on the dog-bathing lately.

Of course, by evening, I was having Carnival Cruise ship flashbacks.  Only on a white carpet instead of a bathroom.  And there was no maid to clean it up.  Just me, with a curious Scout looking on.

Onto Sunday…

I cleaned the floors.  And watched more Friday Night Lights. And Scout got his bath.

75 degrees on Saturday and then this on Sunday.

And now it's Monday and the only accomplishment I have to my name is 25 episodes of Friday Night Lights.
Cheers to a 3-day week though!  My spring break starts Thursday.

  2. That's awful! But you made it up to Scout a little bit on Sunday with the bath and I'm sure he also enjoyed Friday Night Lights! I mean really, who doesn't love that show?

  4. So you guys got snow or is that still piled up from last time? We were supposed to get like 2" but we got a dusting and cold - meaning I turned the heater on again last night cold. I know come summer we'll be complaining about MO heat (although you'll be in nice CO) but this weather is out of hand!

  6. Friday Night Lights is a beautiful thing.

The stomach illnesses really take it out of you in a very bad way. I hope you're 100% soon.

  9. Well, that's certainly no fun. I was lazy, as usual this weekend. Yesterday, I was certain that I was getting tonsillitis again. I slept through church and dragged myself to Easter choir practice since I'm directing this year. Then I came home, ate lunch, and slept. Today, I think I can say that I don't have tonsillitis, but there's definitely some sort of sore throat/cold brewing. Stupid weather.

  11. I hope you're feeling better! And don't feel bad. I'll realize at the end of the day I haven't even petted my dog. *hangs head in shame*

  15. That is totally me today! I woke up and felt like death but thought I was just super tired. I ended up only lasting at school until 11:30 before I went to the office and filled out a form to go home early. Had the shakes & chills plus apparently I looked white. I am guessing I have the flu but hopefully staying home tomorrow will fix this.

And don't worry...I feel guilty when I don't play with Lily either. She's in her crate right now while I am in bed ready to go to sleep. Oh, and I am slacking in the dog bathing department as well.
