Happenings and funny stuff.

I ran a 5K.  Scott looked shocked and doubtful when I said I'd run it, but I finished in 32:50 and it was a trail-style run, so I've been told that's pretty good.  My goal was really "finish".  I took on the same mentality as I do with group fitness:  If there's people watching, I'm not going to give up, and there were an awful lot of people there.

Scott finished 3 minutes before me, and then there was a BBQ and I didn't have to wear a coat.
God, I don't miss Alaska at all.

I went into the gym on base and asked if they were hiring.  The lady at the desk snapped "No." and dashed away all my dreams.  Thanks, lady.  Maybe I'll try the library.

I bought classes at the gym.  Yeah, this is one of those gyms on a base where they make you pay for classes.  10 classes for $18.  Much cheaper than the $70 a month I was paying in good ol' Alaska though :)

I started watching True Blood again from the beginning because #1: my DVDs have been returned to me and, #2: I can.

Also, I started the books.

Maybe I should really get on that job hunt, huh?

Only a few more weeks til season 6...I know I watch a lot of t.v., but I think True Blood will always be my favorite.  Who else is rooting for Sookie and Eric?  I love them together.

And some funny stuff.

Also, that applies to Folgers.

I was getting Lucky Slots invites multiple times a day from one "friend".  Not anymore.

And finally, Happy Monday.  This better make you laugh.

  1. congrats on the race, so awesome! I'm glad you guys are slowly getting settled in. Good luck on the job hunt, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that something good pops up. Love all the funnies, I definitely needed a good laugh this morning. The sweatpants one is especially true! I could never ever work out in any. There are strictly for being as lazy as possible for me. Hope you have a good monday!

Also, TEN classes for $18!? I was just looking at a flier for yoga classes here... Drop-in rate? $13 PER CLASS. Eff.

  4. "Oh Lord Jesus it's a fire!" haha, love that.

I'm the same way with exercise. If people are watching or competing along side me, I'm going to be awesome...and I'm going to beat them. I can't help it. haha Good job on the run. I'm glad you're enjoying the sunshine.

  5. I'm dreading not being in a house when TB starts... Can I make that an argument for finding a place to live sooner rather than later?? I tried reading the books but I think I was too invested in the show and they just kind of annoyed me. I'll be interested to see what you think!

  8. Congratulations on completing a 5k! Great time! Do you use goodreads? Will you tell us what you think of the books when you finish? I don't want to overload you with comments so this comment has a bunch of everything. It's so strange seeing you in spring/summer clothes! Which one of you is the pack rat? Sorry about the gum in your hair!

  10. Hahaha that last photo. I said it in her voice too! Jesus.

Our base costs so much. With childcare, it's over $30 a month. I got a membership at Gold's Gym $25. Bam.

  11. I love the Sookie Stackhouse books. I have only watched season 1 of True Blood. I feel like I am behind.

And you have found some internet gold on there. That squirrel one is super funny.

From a fellow tv junkie, there's no shame in watching a show you love a million times, it's good for you mentally :)
