Learning

In the last week, I've learned a few things.

41 degrees is an amazing feeling.

Pants: JCP, Scarf: Land's End, Boots: Steve Madden, Shirt: Gap

Pho does not taste good when re-heated.
Thai Iced Tea has some pretty unhealthy ingredients in it.  Scott loves the stuff.  It's kind of strange that I, with my crazy sweet tooth, do not, though it does kind of taste like a milkshake.

I'd rather just drink a milkshake.

The more movies I see Jason Bateman in, the more I like him.

All of his characters seem so relatable.  We really liked Identity Thief.

Also, I'm trying really hard to let the little things go.  The fact that they want to start showing our house  (it will be listed for sale soon), the fact that the DVR will only record 2 shows at once, the fact that the kitchen faucet is broken, the fact that the Keurig and the washing machine are both acting up..it's all so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Over the last 3 years, I've learned to let the little stuff at work/school go, but I have trouble with the real life stuff. It's the every day annoyances that bring me down.

So I can't say I've learned to let the little things go...I'm learning.

How about you? Is there anything you're learning right now?

  1. I'm trying to learn how to let the little things go, too. The fact that they wanted to show our house while we were arl in it despite that we'd be paying for an entire month for an empty house (we're leaving early) INFURIATED me! I learned how to say no, which is not something I do often. I, too, have been loving Batemn lately too!!!

  2. Love Jason Bateman. And what a good reminder. I have a really hard time with not fixating on things that I can't really control. Some things we just can't fix.

  3. You are reading my mind - it was roughly 40 here yesterday and I felt like it was a heat wave! So sad that's how it feels. Love the outfit and Jason bateman. I've definitely learned to try and let the little things go too. And also to prioritize and stop making stupid things seem important when they aren't

  7. I can't imagine how 41 degrees feels good. I can't imagine Alaskan winters! Letting things go is a hard thing for me but I'm learning that I have to. No matter how much I try, I can't control everything.

  8. I've learned a lot of little lessons recently. Never go away for the weekend without an extra outfit is at the top of the list.

  9. I love Jason Bateman!

I am trying to tell myself that I am only one person who can't do it all in one day. I am learning to let go of the pristine house that I can't have at the moment.

  10. Jason Bateman is awesome, I didn't care for him until I saw Horrible Bosses and then I was sold. :)

  11. In regards to letting things go, I've learned to repeat this to myself "In a year from now, am I going to really remember the details of this situation?" it seems to be working for me so far...

Thanks for linking up, hope to see you around again sometime!

  12. I love Jason Bateman, but I've heard from so many people that Identity Thief wasn't good so I haven't seen it, I figured we'd wait until it's on Bluray. Have you watched Arrested Development? I've been known to get bummed out about little things too, it's important to learn to let them go, but it's hard!

  13. Milkshakes for the win!

Ive had a huge crush on Jason Bateman for years. His sarcasm in Horrible Bosses is hilarious.

My DVR only records 2 shows at a time too and it's so annoying.

  14. Unfortunately, I am not a Jason Bateman fan...haha.

It's the little things for me, too. And then of course the little things pile up and then they feel like HUGE things, which is annoying.

I've never had Thai iced tea...but I'm with you. I'd rather just have a milkshake.

  15. I love your sunglasses and Jason Bateman :) I also hate that you can't record more than 2 things! I try and find shows that air again later so I can cheat the system a little haha. I really a a "Hoppah" (in my best New England accent lol) ...please tell me you've seen those commercials?? hah

  16. I love Thai iced tea! In moderation of course! Lol. I'm trying to learn to let things go too and to live more in the present. I tend to worry about the "what ifs" and the future way too much. ;)

  17. That's definitely something that we could all learn. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that little things here and there are probably what bring all of us down.
41 degrees is inhumanely cold. Last week was beautiful and warm and sunny, and you know, like California, and this week is freezing. I shivered all through school today!
This might sound a little weird, but the sugar cookie fudge is REALLY good is you reheat it just a little bit, about 20-30 seconds because it gets all soft and gooey. Try it!
