Confessiones

Sweater: Express // Tank:  Gap // Jeans: Target // Boots:  Steve Madden
Sometimes I use Scott's toothbrush.  I know, I know.  But his is in the bathroom that's closer to the downstairs, and I am surprisingly too lazy to walk the extra 30 feet to where mine is in the other bathroom.  (I'm realizing that is the worst excuse for anything. ever.)

I don't particularly care for March Madness.  I'm assuming this has something to do with the fact that I don't like basketball.  Maybe?

We're watching the first half of Breaking Bad Season 5. It gives me flashbacks from our Carnival Cruise time-of-illness, because that's when we watched seasons 3 and 4.

It's sad that a lot good shows are ending/are now over...Dexter, Weeds, Breaking Bad.  Let's just hope, after this summer, True Blood will continue into season "infinity".  Or at least season 7.

How to lose weight/diet motivation blog posts bother me when they're written by yo-yo dieters who are completely unqualified to give advice (i.e. no nutrition/exercise science credentials).  Especially those with the writer is saying, "Spring is here! You don't want to be a big fatty on the beach!" (actual paraphrasing from a post I read last week).
What??? You're saying the only reason to lose fat, gain muscle, and pay attention to what you're putting in your mouth is to look good on the beach??? I've worn a swimsuit twice in the last 3 years.  Going by that logic, I shouldn't work out at all!
I really don't like that "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" garbage either.  Sure, "fit" feels AMAZING.  But ice cream also tastes pretty good.  If you're going to deny yourself every treat, don't give other people advice.  If they don't know any better, they'll believe you.

(If you'll notice, my posts about fitness never actually give advice.  I don't feel like I'm qualified to even say, "I'm not a nutritionist, so please consult a professional".  I just like to keep a record of where I'm at and I think that you might like hearing about it.)

The idea of packing up our house is terrifying me. I don't understand why/how we could possibly have so much stuff/have so much to do in the next few weeks.

All I really want to do today is go to the 9:30am class at the gym.

I cannot believe it's Monday already. Can you?

  1. love the outfit! I'm so sad that breaking bad and dexter are ending too. I just hope some station comes out with an equally addicting new show. I think you know how I feel about people only getting "skinny" for others and bathing suits. Freaking ridiculous. I hate other people's advice too. You can say things like, "hey, I tried this recipe and liked it, here it is if you want to try" but don't be like, "hey this recipe will make you lose 324243 pounds!" No, just no. The fact that it is monday is crushing my soul right now

  2. I don't care about March Madness either. I like playing basketball...but watching? Ehh. I'd rather waste time on the Internet.

  3. Oh tell me about it girlfriend! I hate going to fitness blogs and healthy blogs because they make me feel guilty for enjoying the crap I eat. And like you said... that pint of ice cream I ate the other night all to myself... felt pretty damn good if I say so myself.

And for the record, I don't skinny dip... I chunky dunk ;)

And hooray for Dexter coming back on! Sucks this will be the last season ever. And what did you think about last nights episode of TWD???????? I swear every woman in the universe got a little turned on when Daryl cried. hehe

  4. All I really want to do is cancel the dentist appointment and pretend we're not moving. I will go get my teeth fixed but I won't be happy until I'm healed.

  5. I'm so grossed out by the idea of using someone else's toothbrush, even my husband's! I mean if I had to pick someone's I had to use it would be his, but I prefer my own personal toothbrush.

  6. I don't care for all this March Madness either! I get tired of all the posts about it. Haha. Don't worry I use Kyle's toothbrush sometimes too. :)

  7. Haha, I don't think I could ever bring myself to use Isaiah's toothbrush, unless it was a dire emergency...ugh.

I don't care about March Madness either. I'm sick of seeing it all over Twitter and blogs. I'm not a big basketball fan, either...but even so. I love the NFL, but I don't understand Fantasy Football and all that crap. I just like to watch and enjoy...not turn it into a job.

  8. Very cute outfit! Love the boots!

Oh and I've used my husband's tooth brush before. It gave me the willies for some reason. lol!

FYI- I am stopping over from the Mingle Monday blog hop!

  9. Some of that fitness and health advice is ridiculous too. But whatever, I have the ability to close the page, right? Haha.

And oooh, Breaking Bad is goooood!

  10. There has been no March Madness shown in this house! I have, on occasion, used Angel's toothbrush, but only on accident. You see, at the moment, his toothbrush is purple, and when I see it, I'm like "Oh, purple, a girl color, that must be my toothbrush!" and then halfway through brushing my teeth...I notice my pink toothbrush, and I note that pink is definitely more girly than purple, so that one must be mine. :P I tend to have a really hard time remembering what my toothbrush looks like so I typically try to make sure mine is an emphatically girly color and his is not. I'm going to have to go out and buy him a new blue or green toothbrush pretty soon.

  11. My husband used my toothbrush once and I almost made him go buy me a new one. That's super funny that you're totally ok with sharing toothbrushes. ;-)

  12. I don't like basketball, and therefore, I don't care about March Madness. This is absolutely ok.

I agree that people who are not qualified/certified should not give fitness advice. It's fine to share what you're doing, but fitness and diet really are issues that should be discussed with your doctor.

  13. I've used M's too. It happens sometimes. :)

SO where are you moving? Or are you staying in AK?

  14. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels makes me thing the person who said it has never had a properly cooked loaded meal.

  15. Weekends are too short! And the toothbrush, OMG. I accidentally did it recently and it freaked me out. ;)

  16. Love this outfit. And you're right - March Madness is pretty stupid.

  17. I can't wait for True Blood, Bill's change of character last season was so much to handle, I can't imagine what they are going to do this year. "nothing taste as good as skinny feels' is the worst quote ever. I can think of a lot of things, like cheese. And wine. And cake.

  18. When we went to the beach last I forgot my toothbrush. I made us go to Fred Meyer to buy a new one. Craig just wanted me to use his.

I kind of like March Madness, mostly because I like little games and the bracket becomes like a fun little game for me. I hardly ever watch the games. I didn't fill out a bracket this year so I am caring even less about it.

  19. I'm with you on the fitness stuff! I definitely only have very few fitness blogs I follow for that same reason! :)

  20. I cringed a little about you using Scott's toothbrush. Id rather wear someone's dirty socks then use someone's toothbrush, even my husbands. I know, I'm strange.

Totally agree with you on the diet thing. If you're yo-yo dieting then you shouldnt be shelling out advice. Telling your story, sure but stay away from the advice. Good luck with the packing. Im supposed to be out of our current place in 4 days & I still have A LOT to do :(

  21. Don't care about March Madness or those ridiculous "fitness" blogs. Saying things like "I gotta look for the beach" is just a way to destroy your self-esteem if you don't get there or just give yourself bad motivation.
