Sunday Social 9/16 and funny stuffs.

Sunday Social
1.  5 items you can't live without on a daily basis.
iPhone
MacBook (if absolutely necessary, I could probably do without)
Good coffee
Carmex lip balm
Wedding ring

2.  All-time favorite book?  Why?
The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder will always be my "favorite".  It has such a great underlying message of hope.
However, just last year, I read When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead.  It's juvenile fiction (ages 8-12), but it blew my mind.  I'll read it again and again.  Brilliance in children literature.  I push it on every kid who I think might enjoy it.  I push books like a dealer pushes crack.

3.  Something you'd like to accomplish by the end of 2012.
Dude.  I'm just trying to make it to the end of 2012.  I'm not all, "I want to lose 14 pounds.  I want to get pregnant.  I want to cook dinner at least 3 nights a week.  I want to read 5 books per month."
Um no.  I want to keep up a semblance of a gym routine.  I want to not binge on Oreos/tequila/candy corn (on the weeknights anyway).  I want to make sure the dishes get done within 48 hours of being dirtied and I'd kinda like to keep my closet off of my bedroom floor.

Lofty goals I do not have.

4.  If you could go back and relive any year of your life, which would it be?
2008.  It started off crappy (hello, dead-end relationship), got kinda exciting (student teaching/graduating college), got crappier (no job/gained weight), got AMAZING (met Scott), got amazing-er (picked out my own engagement ring), and ended on a high note, knowing I'd found the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
I wish I could go back and appreciate the crappy times more (I'd work on myself a bit) and relive the awesome times again.

5.  What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
My blog is how I really am.  These are my real thoughts.  The thoughts I can't always share with others.  I've discovered that Alaskans tend to give you the brush-off (as does everyone else) when you complain about their lovely state.
For every person I've never "made friends with" in real life, this is me.
I may come off as snobby in real life if you don't know me because I'm quiet.  I'm just self-conscious.  I've always felt "not good enough" and "unsure", especially around groups of girls/women.  I have no excuse for this.  I've just become more awkward with age, and I am so bad at meeting new people.

funny stuffs.
Is anyone else thoroughly disappointed that they don't live in England?  I'd kinda like to start the new season of Downton now.  January is far away.

This isn't really funny, but I'm willing to bake cookies (your choice!) for the person who is willing to send me this mug.  For real.

As someone who works with children, I shouldn't find this as funny as I do.  Every time, I chuckle.  Every time.

This is becoming a problem.  Any ideas?

Anyway.  Happy the-weekend-is-almost-over Day.  I guess.

What?  Oh, right.  Almost forgot.

  1. I'm the same way when I meet new/groups of people, so awkward! Meeting other girls through blogging seems much easier than in person.

  5. Someone who used to be one of my best friends doesn't even talk to me anymore just because I don't like Alaska...people here are fickle.

  10. I would seriously see that Peter Pan. It would be amusing, but I'd see it. LOL Oh, fake movies...

I love that mug. I was never really into True Blood (mom and sister were...they need to catch up) but their theme song is SO catchy.
