It's OK 8/23 and Thankful Thursday

I so wanted to wear wedges with this.  I've only got a few precious weeks of warm weather left!  But these boots just looked too good with this dress.  Boots always win.
Dress: F21 //  Boots: JCP  //  Sweater:  Macy's
Its Ok Thursdays

It's okay that I was right.

These woods are full of moose lying in wait to eat me.

Good thing my eagle eyes spotted this thing from 100 yards away.  Me and my lawn mower scurried back up to the garage awfully quickly.

It's okay that this little exchange made me laugh out loud.

Oh, and it's totally not okay that I had just finished ranting about my name-misspelling-issue on here on Tuesday, when I was handed this envelope at work:

Thankful Thursday at The Ramblings of Mrs. Hargraves
I'm thankful that a fellow teacher guilted me into pilates on Tuesday night.
I'm thankful that, even though the lawn mower was making some "I'm dying" sounds, it got me through the mowing last night.
I'm thankful for the sunshine because that means "extra recess".  The only thing getting me through the afternoons, folks.
And I am so thankful that, if I must live in Alaska (and apparently I must), I'm glad I live in the cheapest, busiest part of the state.  Go check out Angi's post on groceries.  She lives in Sitka.  (You know..where "The Proposal" supposedly took place?)

  1. Great dress! Also, I want you to know that when I was in Idaho this summer, all I wanted was to a see a moose. Apparently, you have them all.

  3. I meant to comment on your rant yesterday, but I have the same problem. What gets me is when people reply to an email and spell my name wrong when there is clearly my name spelled correctly in the "From:" section. Seriously...this happens to me all the time.

Oh and as I kid I could never get the cutesy personalized name stuff because my name was NEVER spelled right. So many -en's and -in's...no -yn's. Arg!

I feel your pain...you are not alone in your ranting!

  4. I applaud you for mowing. If there were moose in my backyard I'd never go into it!

  5. I HATE it when people spell my name wrong. The office manager at school always spells my name wrong, and I have worked with her for 5 years! Annoying!

  6. Love love love the outfit!! SO cute :-) I have to remind myself to keep on wearing my dresses as long as I can because laaaaawrd knows I only have a month or so left until I break in my boots and sweaters and leggings (NOT that anything is wrong with that ;-))

  7. I love your outfit! I want...no, NEED...new fall boots. Need.

I feel you on the name thing, too. My own relatives still misspell my name. It's "Angi" with no "e" on the end...and it's not short for anything. I think that's why people get confused...they think "Angi" must be short for "Angela" (or whatever) and usually that's spelled "Angie"...but nope. Just Angi with no e.

THANK YOU for the link to my blog! I should do a blog about how Sitka looks NOTHING like The Proposal...I think there are only one or two scenes actually shot here, and I'm pretty sure they're just overhead/helicopter shots...it was all filmed on the East Coast! Although I wouldn't mind a ginormous house on my own island around here... ;-)

  9. I think the moose lay in wait for me on runs. I do look forward to not having to worry about running into them. Or worse...bear!

  10. Human-eating moose?? Yikes. I told you the zombie apocalypse was more likely up there. Good thing you have massive weapons to hold them off...at least temporarily. Good luck with that.

Ps: nice outfit. I like the boots with it.

  11. As cute as wedges would have looked with that dress, I love the way it looks with those boots. I need brown boots asap.

It would be so cool to live somewhere where moose could just linger in my back yard. So cool. Haha, that True Blood part totally made me laugh out loud too. I also didnt mind seeing Sam's tush.
