Thoughts on...thoughts

You may have noticed that the thoughts portion of this blog has been a little sporadic lately.  As in, I haven't been posting much in the way of anything but food.  It's not intentional.  I have things I'd like to say.  It's just been a long few weeks.

I'm tired.  Worn out.  I liken myself to an infant.  10 hours of sleep is the perfect amount.

Physically, I've had strep throat and a sinus headache that just wouldn't quit.

Professionally, I've had 30 little bodies for whom to plan, organize, and prepare.

As a "homemaker" (and boy, do I use that term loosely), I'm failing.  Quite miserably actually.  Dishes, laundry, and a general conglomeration of "stuff" (also a term I'm using loosely) fill up our way too big house that I can't keep clean because the stairs are white carpet and I lost my Swiffer duster.  Months ago.

The gym seems like a nice idea that I entertain in the back of my mind a few times a day.  I'd let the membership go, simply because I'm cheap.  But the husband knows that it's something I'll fall back on as my only main source of recreation this winter.  He believes I can "get there when I can" now and start up regularly again come....well...later.

I'll leave you with this.

We went to the masquerade ball.  It was like going to a wedding in which you would have to pay to attend.  Stop.

Think about that.

Would you really go if you had to pay to attend?

Anyway...a lot of people had a lot of fun.  Drinking.  Dancing.  Merriment.  Generally not remembering what happened, I'm sure.  Social events are..fun.

I drove home at midnight.  Parent-teacher conference in the a.m.

Ahhh.  Such is the life of a working army wife.

I'm a rarity in my little corner of the tundra world.

  1. Great picture, I love your hair. I can't believe you have 30 students, that is nuts! Well, I hope you feel better soon and somehow manage to get just a little bit more sleep!

  2. Thank you! I curled it myself with the 20 minutes I had to get ready after school. I am feeling better, thanks. Have a great week!
