Thursday Thoughts

1.  Suri's Burn Book is awesome.  You may need to brush up on your pop culture knowledge in order to find it funny.  Fortunately, I read a lot of People

2.  I've recently paid to join a gym.  This is something I said I'd never do.  However, military gyms are not conducive to my lifestyle (read:  I work) and classes are almost exclusively during the day, with none on Fort Richardson during the weekend.  I'm thinking of starting a support group for Working (gasp!) Wives of the Military.  We need all of the support we can get.

3.  I love Kate Middleton's hair.  I wonder if she ever thinks of cutting it.  It'd be tough to know that the whole world would probably like you a little less if you cut your hair. Also, I LOVE this dress.  I wanted one like it for the battalion ball this fall.  However, I couldn't quite find the exact knock-off I wanted.

4.  This is my dress for the battalion ball.  It's short instead of long so it's a bit against the military wife grain.  I prefer things to be that way.

5.  I went to the doctor yesterday.  I sat in the exam room waiting for 40 minutes.  I spoke with the doctor for approximately 2 1/2 minutes.  While I sat waiting, trying to studiously read Conflicting Visions in Alaskan Education, I noticed a white noise machine on the counter.  I got to listen to birds chirping and wind blowing.  It was like being in a fake forest.  You have no idea how close I came to unplugging it.

6.  Instead of giving me normalperson directions to the Tricare Referral Clinic (you know, maybe by referring to the aptly named Wolf, Moose, or Bear Wings of the hospital), the doctor told me it was near the "big brass contraption".  It was a sculpture of a globe, in case you were wondering.

7.  Scott's in Louisiana.  He promised that he would say hi to Bill, Jason, and Eric for me.  Yay!

8.  Last, but not least, it was a balmy 46 degrees on Tuesday.  Alaska, keep on impressing me.  You're doing great.
