Currently in March.

Collecting... more cardboard. We had to buy a new oven over the weekend. You think an oven is like $500, right? No. Double it. Triple that if you want an extra nice one. Scott thought he could fix this one by replacing the heating element after it just stopped heating on Wednesday night, and I'm sure he could've. But it was already 15 years old and, I kid you not, already had a glitch in a fuse that kept the "burner on" light on permanently and it would flicker when the heat or a/c kicked on. At the risk of having to repair and repair again and repair something else after that, he ordered a new oven. It was delivered Sunday.

Which meant I spent all of Sunday morning painting the wall behind the oven and touching up the cupboards. Totally wasn't my plan considering I have been sick since Wednesday as well.

We still don't know what we're going to do with the counters here. Spending $$$$ on countertops isn't going to add value so we'll revisit this after we do the projects we currently have started, I guess.

Craving... real cold medicine. I am on my 5th sinus infection in 8 months. Actually, probably 7th if you count the times I also thought I possibly could've had covid and I've, no lie, been pregnant for 6 out of 7 of these bouts with illness in 2021-2022. I am so tired of not being able to help myself feel better. Two times ago, I gave up and started rationing myself a bit of Afrin. The other day, I even *gasp* took a Tylenol. The homeopathic stuff doesn't work for a reason. I am a firm believer in real meds (FTR, most OBs I've asked have said you can take anything you need to after 13 weeks).

Picturing... what life with kids probably actually looks like. We used to just split an order of crab rangoon. Now we get Wells his own because it's more efficient than attempting to order him a meal. I do think he ate 4 or 5 of them, then a granola bar, and a bunch of pho noodles.

Playing...

a constant game of catch-up.

This is me trying to grade papers and update everything that needs to be updated for school this week.

Wishing... the dino exhibit we saw over the weekend would've been better. The best dinosaur exhibit I've seen has been the Denver Natural History Museum. Unfortunately, living in the middle of nowhere limits our options. This traveling Jurassic Quest exhibit came within 90 minutes so I bought tickets as a way to take Wells somewhere special. He wasn't even impressed! He thought we were going to "see real fossils".

Trying to catch bubbles from some other kid's $30 bubble toy was more interesting than the animatronic ancient sea animals, I guess.

He was busy asking us to take his wristband off here.

Looking past the dinos to get a clear view of the bounce houses in the background.

Oddly, we had a better experience at the aquarium last weekend, where he's been multiple times (we bought those memberships so we're gonna use them). He loves that place.

At least there he got a hot dog and a fishing rod, I suppose:

  1. I am just ogling your oven - I need a new one so badly!!! They are so expensive now!!!!
Sorry you're dealing with another sinus thing. That has to be so hard when you have to watch your meds & not be able to just knock yourself out

  2. I have the same range! And my counters looks very similar. I have no idea what to do with them either. They’re better than what our last house had, and I really don’t want to buy new counters, but bleh.

  6. Time management skills of a carrot - ok, that is funny. And more and more true these days. Sigh.

  7. Nice oven! I've been battling sinus issues for a while now too. This is the first year in many I've had it keep recurring. Hope you feel better soon.

  8. I’m belatedly catching up on my “Currently” posts. At first I read that an oven was $5000 or double or triple and I was starting to panic. $1000 is much better :) And I'm so sorry you've been so sick. That's frustrating beyond belief. I hope you find some relief soon.
