S&T 9/15

Stuff, Things, etc.

I wish people wouldn't add me to their sales groups on Facebook. I don't want LuLaRoe or Younique. I would never be gutsy enough to add someone I barely know to a direct sales group without their permission. And my feelings on Younique are complex...I'm into healing your skin and fixing it, not covering it up.

A suggestion: Can we cut the weekends down to one day? If I could eliminate all of the Sundays between now and ______, time might speed itself along more quickly. Also, I don't need two days. I need Saturdays to run errands and clean and grade papers. Nothing's open on Sunday anyway. I need extra time to go to the post office, not sit around the house. We're wasting productive work time with this "two day weekend" thing.

Now that you know how I really feel (and probably hate me...), now seems like a good time to plug away...

Sign-ups start in a week and a half!

And speaking of fall, I got these boots on DSW's website for a steal. They are comfortable. They are attractive. They are the third pair of combat boots I've tried and the only ones I've loved.

And, fall again...I love the Steelers so much. Plus, I went on an online shopping spree last week (makes me feel better) and got a new Steelers shirt. I can wear it on "Broncos days" at work.

Also...in need of recommendations...a book and a TV show. Supernatural isn't doing it. I plan to read allll the Show Us Your Books posts this weekend, but if you have a favorite from the last month or so, just drop the title in the comments!

  1. I need the two day weekend. I work on Saturday. I work half days Mondays. I need that Sunday off! But, retail work life is never normal.

Hooray for a swap that I am going to participate in!

  2. It really drives me nuts that FB allows any of my FB to add me to any group without my permission. I've been added to some crazy @ss groups and once I discover it, I have to go in and leave the group when I never wanted to be a part of the group to being with.

I need my two weekends, otherwise I am not nice to little Johnny and Jane come 7:15am on Monday morning. There are times when I really feel like I could do a three day weekend. LOL!

  3. I'm also over being a part of everyone's group. Its old, and I'm quickly trying to leave said group. Everyone sells something!

  4. What is the pumpkin swap thing? I can't seem to find out what it is on your blog but I'm probably just missing something. haha. We recently really loved Homeland season 4 but I'm thinking that might not be the show for you at the moment...other favourites in the past year (I don't watch much TV tbh) include Once Upon a Time, Happy Endings, House of Cards, White Collar, Sherlock, and Gotham. Alias is on Netflix now too and I loooooved that show. Not sure what you're in the mood for though! One tree hill is also good :)
Books - if you haven't read anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid yet, I highly recommend One True Loves and After I Do. I think you would like them!

  5. I can't get behind a one day weekend. I'd prefer a three day. LOL

  7. I understand what you're saying about the 1 day weekend--but as an introvert I restore my energy by sitting quietly alone. Saturday is my day to get shit done. Sunday is my quiet day. I write a chapter, go for a run, then spend the rest of the day in bed or on the couch with a tv show.

  8. Sorry, I think you're in the minority with this one day weekend business. I need a day to get stuff done and a day to laze around the house!

I'm liking Veronica Mars lately, and The Americans is next on my list. If you haven't already done Friday Night Lights, then what are you waiting for as it's awesome. I'm currently listening to The Ex as an audiobook (not chick lit, more of a legal drama) and so far, so good.

  10. Turn off those notifications for the groups people add you to :)

  11. Can we make one-day weekends optional? I need two days in a row away from my job...

I'm thankful nobody has added me to any FB groups without my permission. I don't have time for that.

THIS is GOING to be the year I buy a Seahawks hoodie. I've been a fan basically my entire life and have never owned anything but a jersey (and probably a keychain at some point) and I have no idea what happened to that thing. I've been saying every single year that I want to buy a hoodie and then I remember they're like $80.

  12. Not sure what you're into, but for books I really liked Labor Day by Joyce Maynard and Missing Pieces by Heather Kudenkauf. TV wise I've been watching Married at First Sight, which is basically a train wreck but I can't stop. And Naked and Afraid XXL. As for the FB sales groups, I always either turn off notifications or unsubscribe/leave group.

  13. I'll pretend I didn't read that weekend thing, since I'm a huge proponent of longer weekends.

Also, I just got a new Steeler shirt, too! My parents gave me an Old Navy gift card for my birthday, and I also had super cash. So o got a great haul for about $20! Woo hoo!

  14. I also hate when people add me to those groups. Invite me, maybe, and let me decide if I want to be there. Ugh.

I can't get on board with the weekend thing. Sorry. :)

  15. I'm happy to see the pumpkin swap back! And no, I need every second of my weekend and preferably a bit more if it's up for negotiation. I seem to spend most Saturdays travelling about for one reason or another so I need my Sundays for jobs! Unless I'm travelling on the Sunday as well in which case a weekend extension would be very well received.

  16. Girl... I am so with you on the sales groups! It's one thing if you know the person... but when some random tries to do it - NO THANK YOU! It just feels spammy!

  17. i cannot get behind your one day weekend plan, but i'd be all about like alternating weekend days so that the post office had to work on my weekend, but they could be closed when i had to work. or something like that lol. and chick fil a, i want them to be open every day. can't handle this closed on sunday stuff.
i don't know about tv shows, sorry :( i haven't finished a tv series in like 4 years. i'm behind on all of them.
