Cucumber issues

Several weeks ago, I bought a cucumber at the commissary. One of those nice, expensive, plastic-wrapped English ones. I drove home, unpacked things, and then couldn't find it.

I checked the truck, I thought about looking at the receipt to make sure I bought it (but then I forgot to do that), and I just kind of assumed that it had either been missed when the bagger was packing things OR it had fallen out of the cart on the way to the truck. Something like that.

Though I did check the truck thoroughly, more than once. I looked everywhere. And there was kind of a weird smell in the truck over the course of this, but I'm pretty paranoid in general so I brushed it off. I generally don't lose things and the fact that I'd somehow misplaced or lost this cucumber was driving me mildly insane.

Last night, I went to drive the truck down to the mailbox and I noticed the smell again. This time, I opened up the back door and, for some reason, looked down into the side pocket on the door.  There was the cucumber, in all its moldy glory.

Luckily, it was in that plastic wrap, so there was no mess.

And honestly, I'm so glad I found a moldy cucumber in the truck. It means I'm not insane and I don't lose things after all.

Happy weekend. I'm going to get a pedicure. This was the "perfect" end to this particular week.

  1. Good thing it was wrapped in plastic....oh, man, that's exactly what you don't want to find in your car, but I know how easy it is for one random item to get left out where it's not supposed to be.
