Stuff and things. 5/15

+I always tell myself it's time to start going to bed earlier.  The routine looks like this: shower, Pilates, read, sleep.  Usually, I get distracted though.  Whether it's with cleaning up things, Pinterest, or puppies, my focus often shifts.  Last night, we stayed up until midnight watching Prisoners.  Have you seen it?  So good.  However, to someone who could've spent those 2 hours and 35 minutes grading papers, it was quite an impractical use of time.

+It's time to get serious about vegetables again.  I had this salad for dinner, with a green smoothie, on Tuesday.  I think it's safe to say that I will only be making salad dressing with avocado from here on out.  Have you tried it yet?

+It's also time to get serious about working out again.  Of course, I can't with school.  I just can't.  But I can change into gym shorts as soon as I get home and eventually get around to it.

+Speaking of a very spoiled dog, Scout has been sick on and off a lot lately.  We've been feeding him chicken, rice, and sweet potatoes.  He runs this place.  Don't feel too bad for him.  He kind of lives like a sultan with all his pillows.

+We've been really into documentaries lately.  These 8 episodes on Netflix held our attention all of Friday night.  Maybe that's why Scout falls asleep so much…

+And speaking of working out, I am into this challenge.  I'm also pinning some new workouts I can do on my own; mostly resistance and body weight.

+Also, in case anyone I'm related to is reading this, your Mother's Day gifts will be mailed by Saturday.  I swear.

  1. I've never made my own salad dressing but the avocado dressing has intrigued me for awhile. I might have to try that! I saw you mention that pilates challenge and I started doing it! It's been awhile since I've done pilates and I forgot how much I like it!

  2. I'm never really able to use avocado to make anything out of...because I like it so much that seemingly no matter how many we buy I will eat them all before I get the chance to use them in a recipe...

  7. We started making green smoothies for breakfasts again this week. I mean, *I* started making them again this week and Isaiah hasn't complained. Love them. This one has grapefruit, cucumber, spinach, ginger, coconut water, a few frozen strawberries and some frozen blueberries. Delicious and not too sweet.

Exercise is another story. My pants are supposed to be delivered today, maybe that'll be my motivation to start working out again...new pants. Yay?

LOVE crime documentaries. We powered through that same one the other night and now we've been going through all the CSI-like shows..."Solved" is a good series if you like that sort of thing. Murders and unsolved crimes and what not. Good stuff.

  11. I always tell myself I need to start staying up later!

It amazes me that you stayed up until midnight! During the week I'm in bed by 9:30 most nights.

  12. I keep trying to convince myself to go to bed earlier, too! I'm tired enough. I will sometimes manage to get up to bed and ready by 8:30, but then....the distractions and it's after 10 before I'm pulling down my sleep mask to go to sleep.

The fact that it is lighter later always makes me think that it's earlier than it is, which is part of the problem, BUT I'm not complaining! I'm happy it's still light after 8 PM! :)
