1. I thought I moved south. Or something like that. So, please don't mind the gloves.
2. Here's a picture of K-cubed at Buffalo Wild Wings a few weeks ago. It was my birthday/Kayla's going-away dinner. The poor guy we got to take the picture ended up taking a blurry one. Eh.
I'm in a lot of denial about the fact that I have to make new friends in a few short months. I JUST MADE FRIENDS. This lifestyle requires too much of me.

3. Speaking of friends, I spent some time the other day thinking about why I feel like such an introvert. I don't dislike people. We know a lot of great people here. But I've just spent 2 entire weekends cleaning/organizing, grocery shopping, and sitting on the couch. I've watched a lot of Netflix, read a couple of books, etc. I just don't feel like going places. I blame winter.
My theory is that I spend 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, being "on". I can't turn "off" when I'm at school. I'm always freaking talking. Always giving instructions. Always having 22 people looking at me and expecting me to do something fascinating or amusing. When the weekends come, I'm completely drained and don't want to use my voice.
4. Scout flushed 21 birds while hunting last weekend. To Scott, that dog is worth every penny we paid for him. Me? I just wish he'd snuggle more. (This is how a Brittany flushes. It's like pointing, but not really. I don't understand it, as you can see, by my super-detailed explanation here.)
In December- in his jaunty orange scarf I made out of a cheap hunting hat.
5. I watched 12 episodes in a row of The Following the other day. TWELVE. I don't even have anything to say about that.
I really liked it.
I love your sweater!
ReplyDeleteI really want to start watching The Following. I keep hearing radio commercials for it and it sounds awesome. I also love Scout's little infinity scarf!!
ReplyDeleteI so badly want to start watching The Following, but my mom says I spend too much time alone in the house to be able to. She's worried I'll get freaked out (probably true). Maybe that's a summer activity when it stays lighter later and the husband actually emerges from the office :)
ReplyDeleteThat scarf on scout is adorable.
I don't have an excuse for being an introvert. I'm alone all day every day. Sometimes the only words I say are "no!" and "Get down!" to the dog and cat respectively. It doesn't help that I don't really know anyone here, and I have a bit of social anxiety (self diagnosed, impressive, right? hah) that makes me too nervous to just go OUT and MEET people. Le'sigh. Maybe I'll go back to that coffee shop I hung out before I got sick. But then again--everyone there is in college--and I'm the grandma hanging out in the corner. Life.
I wish we could share a Netflix acct, lol. Then I would just watch the shows you post about because we tend to like the same things. Eh, I used to be overly sociable, and sometimes get down if I don't go out...but as i get older, I am over a lot of people. I don't know how to explain it, but sometimes it's exhausting. This sentence came out way more depressing than I meant it to, but I think you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteSometimes all you need to do is just relax and watch tv. No problems doing that!

ReplyDeleteScout. He's just the most adorable.
ReplyDeleteAnd so are you, lady! Love that outfit. And I really, really love how self-aware you are. You know you're introverted, you're cool with the fact that you're introverted, and then you come here and socialize with us anyway. :)
Hope you guys have a great weekend.
12 in a row? I'd be creeped out for days. Especially that short haired girl. She's got the dead eyes.
ReplyDeleteI saw that you guys are moving. When is it?
I love your whole outfit!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI always love your outfits! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not wanting to use your voice after a week's worth of talking. In 6th grade though, they aren't looking at me expecting me to be amusing. I spend most of the time just trying to get them to look at me at all! LOL
IT's hard to stop watching "The Following" once you start. You just HAVE to see what happens next!
I think I'D even be an introvert if I had to talk to a class of kids all day. Heck, when I was a day camp counselor, I'd come home with a sore throat and so tired... and I'm an extrovert usually.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree about being "on" during the school day. So many people at work sit behind a desk and don't have to entertain. And the ones that do, get paid like millions. Except teachers. Boo.

ReplyDeleteI hate the meeting new people phase of army life too. And here, we are having a hard time making new friends because we are always with our families. I know a lot of people in the area, but don't have a core group of mom/military friends like I did in Monterey or NC. I feel like this will be a problem when Kev deploys and no one around me understands what I am going through!
