2. I don't make muffins very often, but my mother-in-law gave me this recipe 4 years ago and I make them each fall. Now my mom makes them too. They freeze really well and I've also shipped them to
Afghanistan.
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
3. Scott was looking through the camera, saw this failed picture from before the commandant reception last week, and he liked it. I thought the beep had gone off and, obviously, it hadn't yet.
Let me tell you what was happening in this picture.
Him: We're late.
Me: I want a picture like the one in Alaska.
Him: It's hot.
Me: Uh huh.
Him: Another one?
Me: Documentation!
4. Perhaps the biggest news of the week (and of the last 4 months) is that I landed a teaching job. Unbelievable, right?! I think so. I'm still in shock, to be honest. And I'll have 22 second-graders come Monday morning, so I've got my work cut out for me. You guys are so darn supportive. Thank you for all the tweets the other day! Here goes nothing!
Also happening Monday...
5. Are you wearing skirts or dresses yet? Skirtember started earlier this week with the beginning of September. Our first link-up is on Monday. See you *there*!
I totally wore a dress yesterday (as well as all the other days this week), but I was so exhausted when I got home...no picture to be had.
And a bonus, because it's too cute not to share. We were dog-sitting for some friends last weekend. Their puppy, Duchess, wrote us a thank-you note.
This is a Pin-worthy idea.
Happy weekend!
Hurray on your job!! That's so last minute but you must be very excited! I've been wearing dresses everyday, but taking pictures is significantly harder than wearing dresses! :P

ReplyDeleteAlso, you should live near me so you could bake for me all the time. Would that be ok? :P
Congrats on the job! That's awesome! The universe provides.
ReplyDeleteI fail on Twitter so this is news to me.
I love chocolate chip pumpkin bread, I make it every year! I should do it in muffins.
I love the card from Duchess, so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww that thank you note is sooo cute! Congrats again on your job! I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin (gasp... yes, I know the whole blog world might shun me for typing that), but pumpkin AND chocolate sounds great to me :)
ReplyDeleteWell now you have an even better excuse to wear skirts daily :)
ReplyDeleteI just read your guest post on Poppiness and had to say hello when I saw you were going to FLW. I lived there for 8 years. I know. That's forever. Pretty sure that picture of you two was taken on our deck. Looks exactly the same as our house!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh!!! Congrats on the new job! So excited for you!
ReplyDelete(P.S. That picture of you two is adorable. I always feel like the picture you didn't mean to take ends up being the best one. :))
yum! I want one of those muffins! I want it to be fall weather because pumpkin anything seems like it needs to be cooler to eat. :) happy friday!
ReplyDeleteI've already made two pumpkin-chocolate chip loaves, pumpkin snickerdoodles, a honey cake and cranberry-orange-walnut bread. All in the last week and a half. Fall makes me want to do absolutely nothing but bake.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on the job! Enjoy being with others who are forced to dress well. ;)
Congrats on the job! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteA student brought in pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for a party or birthday or something one time. I ate more than my share. lol So those muffins sound wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on your teaching job! I'm so excited for you! 2nd grade is a good grade to teach! I had a long term subbing job in 2nd grade once, and I loved it. :)
That card is super cute. I'm definately going to have to remember the muffin recipe and that they ship well incase the fiance gets deployed.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party but congrats on the job! Best of luck.
