This is the unfurnished version of our new living space.
It’s safe to say that we love
our new place. We’ve lived in 3 houses
over the past 4 years and this is the best layout and most suited to us. In the first house, the living space was
kinda small and there was little to no storage.
Moving into the second place, we found there was too much space (we had wanted the 3-car garage for all of his tools and
outdoor toys), and we were able to hoard, accumulate, and generally not throw
anything away for 2 years.
This place is practical. I mentioned before that we hadn’t actually
seen it before moving in. I sent in a
check and signed a lease a month before we even left Alaska. I was nervous to say the least.
The house is essentially a
ranch, with everything on one floor (new concept to us) and there is a FULL
basement. A
runs-the-length-and-width-of-the-house basement and it is a Godsend. It is what’s been missing from our lives.
It is the place where Scott
can store, organize, and play with all of his toys (tools).
Living Room
Steps next to the living room, going to the basement.
The HUGE basement.
Kitchen and dining area (from the laundry room)
One side of the kitchen. Nice appliances compared to the house we came from!
Kitchen view from the dining area. I love that the laundry room over there has a window. And that's ceramic tile. No more stick down "tiles".
Front. Love the stonework arches.
Side
The back. Basement access from outside is also new to us and we're pretty excited...it's the little things us Alaskans aren't used to :)
Who were the fools people who did a partial do-it-yourself move? That'd be us.
I love it! I am so jealous!!!! Can I come and live with you??
ReplyDeletei love the brick!! good luck moving in!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place! I bet you'll love getting settled there. Our next move will be completed with professional movers. I'm excited to let someone else do the back breaking work. Lets face it, I don't move items larger than myself anyways. I'm reminded of our trek across state lines, an emergency root canal, 1 hours "work", and a 13 hour drive with 2 cats in crates. It was a comedy of errors. We all needed drugs for that epic move. Haha! Esther Norine Designs estherdavison@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThat looks nice! I love walk-out basements and ranch style homes.

ReplyDeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again, I love this house! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI was watching Love it or List it over the weekend & all the damn houses on that show had basements, I was so jealous. That'd be like the equivalent to another house below your own...imagine all the junk I could store down there :)
Like everyone else, I love your house! The brick is really beautiful. I wish we had outside access to our basement! I'm a little jealous.
ReplyDeleteLove this house! I am so glad this is working out for you!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love your house! It is so cute! I can't wait to see it all set up! There's going to be an "After" post, right?! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat place! We are hoping for a basement in our next place too.
