Sunday stuff.

I'm tired of making lists. We had a giant to-do list that needed to be accomplished by Saturday morning, with me still working all of last week, and with us having no fridge/freezer and only one vehicle.

Every move we've done has come down to the eleventh hour.  And I do mean, the eleventh hour and 59th minute,  The sorting, the cleaning, the packing, the "do I leave this out or don't I?" question.  Moving, to us, isn't really a  surprise.  We expect it to happen. We packed up a U-Haul with all of our belongings (including half the Lowe's tool department and a motorcycle) and drove to Alaska 3 1/2 years ago.  Then, we did the same thing 18 months later to move to a different house 30 minutes away.  Now, we've known for months that we were leaving at the end of April (with a little uncertainty thrown in for effect), and we STILL weren't on top of things.  I was not made for this.  This past week looked like; do maintenance on 2 trucks, do maintenance on snowmobiles, sell snowmobile and trailer, go to the landfill, PACK, clean the rental we're currently in, drop off mailbox keys, laundry mat, drop off cable boxes, PACK, drop off car in Anchorage to ship to St. Louis, drop off donation box, PACK.  And then clean some more.

And then there's school.  I feel horrible for the sub who's walking into my disaster.

I spent my lunch break planning our route on Google maps the other day.  I figured we should probably do that before we actually leave on a 3,000 mile journey.

1.  'member good 'ole Justin Bobby?

Whatever happened to him...?

2.  Dansko has a new shoe for summer.  They've combined the 'sko with the Croc and have developed the ugliest shoes known to man.  Way to go.  I'd like to meet the gal who pays $75.00 for a Dansko with holes in it.

As seen in Nordstrom's
3.   You tell me.  Does this salmon-flavored drink look appealing?

4.  I'm into the idea of doing button swaps with other bloggers.  If you'd be interested in having me on your sidebar, how's a 30 day swap sound?

5.  God-willing, we'll be on our way out of Alaska today.  You know, hopefully.

  1. Blessings on the rest of your move...I can't imagine how stressful it must be!

I love bloody marys but salmon vodka? There is nothing about that that sounds appealing to me.

I'd love to do a button swap!

  2. Can you imagine getting pukey-drunk off salmon vodka? Talk about life's most miserable experience. Well, next to a 3,000 mile trek out of Alaska, that is.

BE CAREFUL! HAVE FUN! You're leeeeeeeeaving!!!!!

  10. Hahaha, Justin Bobby! Talk about going back. Did you know my ever loving dislike for Crocs? If I start seeing people wear those, I'm dying. LOL....also, if I made a button, I'd swap. I'm lazy though.

  11. I hope things are going well with your big drive. I think my husband and I would kill each other if we were in the car together for that long. Or I would just sleep the whole time.

1.Oh man Justin Bobby. That was some classic Hills.
    2. Those shoes are awful. I admit to owning (and wearing) 2 pairs of Danskos, but mine are brown and black. The end.
3.I would try the salmon bloody mary. I have had tomato jalapeno wine, and it was pretty good.
    4. I am grabbing your cute little button now.

    Safe travels!

  13. YES!! Another blogger who likes the idea of button swaps! I'll totally swap with you...only problem, I don't have a button, nor do I know how to make my own. I might just resort to paying someone to give me a blog facelift and a blog button. I think it's worth it! PS- I did the trip AK to Chicago last winter. My cousin lived in Palmer, AK for 3 years and when he decided to move back to the suburbs of Chicago, I made the trek from Palmer to Chicago with him. It was long, but definitely a pretty site. But since you've lived in AK you probably already saw all the pretty things to see there. IF you get a chance, stop at the natural hot springs in Canada. I think the province is either British Columbia or Albertia. I'll double check and get back to you if y'all are interested in a pitstop! Have a safe drive!! Keep us posted if you can! :)

  14. I would LOVE to swap buttons with you!

The craziness iPod moving sounds very stressful. God bless you both. I thought moving back and forth between home and college was stressful. I can't imagine that....

    Also, holy ugly shoes.

  17. Hooray for your move!! Andrew spent some time at Leonard Wood and I visited him there once - there wasn't much around, but at least it's not cold and dark all the time! We did the career course in GA and the time flew fast. I really enjoyed it and made some great friends - it's easy because everyone is in the same boat. I hope you like it a lot more than Alaska!

I would love to button swap with you!

And those Danscrocs are HIDEOUS. Why would they think that was a good idea?!

  18. I do button swaps :)

Yuck on that bloody mary! I don't want to drink my fish...

Also, my sister would probably wear those shoes. She swears by Danskos. Gross.
